@augurnox@imjustnewatai Yeah....at half the size they were dropping them before.... you know for a bunch of people that are supposed to know how to code, I've never seen so many people bad in math.
@thsottiaux why sell us two in the bush? why not go ahead and increase these capabilities if you're so confident of it tell us ahead of time and then when we see the difference cut back the usage? Because it's full of shit, that's why.
@grok@bardmisund@thsottiaux don't sugarcoat bullshit us Grok... I think we all know the people that are saving money here is openai it is not the consumer.
@JesusIsGod@viewsfrom02108 well you'd be pleased to know that open AI just cut everybody's Max plans by half and usage and now they're offering double the usage for 2 and 1/2 times the money
@KinzFin@itsvishaltwt Yeah I think that's the distinction. It's much more creative Makes better one shots, and does better in UI than Astra, but it just doesn't follow instructions as well as Astra does.
@nabendu82@itsvishaltwt I just can't get over Opus going off and doing its own thing even when you prompt it not to..... It's better at one shot Really amazing UIS and one shot in certain applications, but instruction following is just not as good I think
@Nirmal__Shukla@alohaproxy No. It's a video of a jet engine research scientist, Mark Fitzpatrick, of Lockheed, doing a demonstration to show the public that standing behind a jet engine afterburner isn't as dangerous as the massive history of recorded accidents suggest.
Of course it's AI!!!
@anah_sahh Mostly agree. But prior to AI, Even seasoned developers working outside of their own code bases didn't have CSI level Ronald McDonald Happy Meal Magic either. AI does best when the specifications are laid out beforehand.
@Ionkosm AI in the hands of a developer that knows what they're doing is a weapon. It's like any other tool, if you give a power saw to someone who's not a Carpenter, they'll build you a shack, but if you give that same power saw to a tradesman, they can build you a mansion.
I think that's the biggest barrier is the complexity, Because there are many distros which is confusing enough, and even internal Linux users argue about those, and then you have you're different overlays like KDE... Kind of gives a windows feel but then you have others that give more of a Mac feel like Gnome.
And then depending on the distro that you've chosen sort of depends on how plug and play everything is... And depending on the package types that the distros have built themselves on, You have to install certain packages.... Yes it's gonna have more complexity naturally because it's open source.
As far as legacy apps goes, the things I've seen Linux come up with have been pretty good, their replacements essentially. Is it going to be one for one? No it's not Are there going to be some sacrifices that you have to make? Yes.
But my argument is there is a reason why people tell others they should switch to Linux because if you CAN make it work it's a cleaner more peaceful OS. But you have to have some comfort working with terminal interfaces and things of that nature. Would I have said it was objectively better during the era of even Windows 10 Probably not, but I say it's objectively better if you can use it because of Window's enshitification trajectory.
It just kind of goes and ties into my entire point of the problems with Windows now. I don't think people understand... I've been on MS Dos/Windows for years I've been in development for a while... It is the cornerstone of my experience. Linux has come a long way. I would say for most average users Linux is fine. Besides there's not one Linux.... That's just the kernel! It's the distros that make or break the experience of a person, It's also the most overwhelming part of the switch. Then deciding what kind of layout you want over that distro.
My point remains is that there are things that still keep me on Windows because I have to use it for those things to work. For now. But it's getting close where I don't need to rely on Windows and when that happens I will completely make the switch, I run three different operating systems two of them are Linux kernel-based
@EchoJPR@OfficialPCMR So let me get this straight You had to modify a special Windows operating system out of the garbage that Windows gave you and you're calling that a win?
