@CowboyhatChris@faceyouhate It’s not a “defense” of Spacey to point out that someone who hasn’t lived in the US for years isn’t going to “threaten” to leave the US.
Spacey is a piece of shit, but this statement is fabricated. There’s zero evidence of him making it.
@Dixon_Diaz420@AdamParkhomenko@therecount Yet if you compare the entire state of Illinois, with its own “very unsafe cities,” the states she mentioned look even worse.
All states have cities - yet the cities in some states do significantly better than the cities in other states. Why do you think that is?
@Dixon_Diaz420@captainspheal@AdamParkhomenko@therecount Let’s make this easier for you: almost all cities in the US - both the safest and the least safe - are run by Democrats.
Yet the worst cities are disproportionately located in red states. That’s at least partly because cities are also subject to state-level laws.
@JRayOnX @thesmoothzilla @HomeMalone328 @TrevorProject That’s hysterical. No sane person who has spent more than a few minutes reading through the moronic cavalcade of blue check reply guys at the top of every viral thread would make such a deranged assertion.
@Gettingcontext @TimothyDSnyder “thinks nothing can ever harm him”
What a bizarre thing to say about Joe Biden.
Whether you like him or not (I do think Snyder’s claim about his “courage” is specious), his words and life experience indicate someone who’s well aware that human existence can be fragile.
@queen_calder@TimothyDSnyder “Some” might say that, but those people are invariably very dumb and/or so thoroughly propagandized that they’re no longer capable of distinguishing truth from fiction.
@kcfanaticusa1@BettyBowers@RonFilipkowski Fortunately, kcfanaticusa1 is here to stand up for these poor (in a manner of speaking) victims of, uh... [checks notes] sarcastic tweets.
@kcfanaticusa1@BettyBowers@RonFilipkowski Life is so unfair for the children of billionaires - sometimes people even make fun of their pretensions on Twitter!
They're the true persecuted minority in this country.
@Forgotso@IAPonomarenko You're now a puppet of Russia, spouting their (aggressively stupid, ahistorical) propaganda. You don't have to be American to see that you're being used. Have you not followed Russia's looooong history of imperialism and genocide?
Wake up!
@Forgotso@IAPonomarenko Putin - that revanchist and bloodthirsty idiot - has singlehandedly guaranteed NATO's continued relevance AND expansion.
I guess that makes Putin a puppet of America, too.
@Forgotso@IAPonomarenko If you're actually interested in learning, I'd start out by looking at a map of when and where NATO has expanded in the last 20 years.
When Ukraine did request to join, they were repeatedly rejected - largely to appease Russia.
@yurachkivskyi@jimsoklar@nolanwpeterson It’s a real own goal on Russia’s part. They invade a non-NATO country to (allegedly) “stop NATO,” and in doing so Putin single-handedly justified NATO’s continued existence.
Of course, NATO is actually a red herring - but Russia apologists will never acknowledge that.
@jimsoklar@nolanwpeterson If that was their goal, they already failed miserably.
Before the war, NATO repeatedly refused Ukraine’s requests to join - while Sweden and Finland were happy to remain out of the alliance.
Putin has made NATO more vital and relevant than it has been in decades.
@bzztwrong0 @Christo77309767 @animerobin0@TomKoff I know you guys are only capable of thinking in catchphrases your thought masters teach you, but “fighting to the last Ukrainian” is a monumentally dumb phrase and idea even by tankie standards. It betrays a fundamental misunderstanding of history and human nature in general.
@bzztwrong0 @Christo77309767 @animerobin0@TomKoff I find it very cool that you think America has to force Ukrainians to defend their homeland against an invader with a *looong* history of imperialist and genocidal actions.
@bzztwrong0 @Christo77309767 @animerobin0@TomKoff Also, for the record - with the exception of Finland, which joined as a direct result of Russia’s invasion, Russia is no closer to being “surrounded” by NATO than it was a decade ago. Just fyi.
@bzztwrong0 @Christo77309767 @animerobin0@TomKoff Weird comment, since NATO *repeatedly* refused Ukraine’s requests to join. (A disastrous mistake, in retrospect.)
It’s almost like NATO is a red herring.
Tho, since we’re on the topic, have you ever wondered why so many Eastern European countries *want* to join NATO?
@_ymmaT_@seanmack1025@TheRickyDavila@SpeakerMcCarthy There’s a lot wrong here, but let’s start with the fact that Zelensky (a native Russian speaker) wasn’t elected until five years after *Russia* started this war and murdered thousands of Ukrainians.
