Alex Karp on NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani:
“Obviously someone who has no work experience ever, who has views that have never worked, should not be put in charge of the most important enterprise of its kind, maybe in the world.”
Milton Friedman: “Keep your eye on one thing and one thing only: how much government is spending, because that’s the true tax.”
“If you’re not paying for it in the form of explicit taxes, you’re paying for it indirectly in the form of inflation or borrowing.”
When the Great Recession hit, politicians found an easy scapegoat: unregulated free markets.
“The absence of a working regulatory regime…” said President Obama.
But economist Don Boudreaux says: “There was very little deregulation.”
Obama’s regulations made the crisis WORSE:
I'll tell you why. Because if you don't pay you don't care and hold gov accountable and lack of accountability is the reason taxes are so high. EVERYONE needs to be a stakeholder. As a business person
@JeffBezos
should know this. It's the cornerstone of any successful enterprise.
NAILED IT: Jeff Bezos: “A nurse in Queens who makes $75K a year pays more than $12K a year in taxes. Does that really make sense?”
“So people talk about making the tax system more progressive. How about we start by having the nurse in Queens NOT pay taxes? At all!”
“Why is a nurse in Queens who makes $75K a year paying more than $1K a month in taxes?”
“That’s $1K a month that could help with rent or groceries or anything.”
“And by the way, do you know what that all adds up to? The bottom half of income earners in this country pay only 3% of the taxes. It’s only 3%.”
“We can find 3%. So we don’t have... it’s a small amount of money for the government. You know that. And the more I thought about it, to me, it’s kind of absurd that we’re doing this.”
“We shouldn’t be asking this nurse in Queens to send money to Washington — they should be sending her an apology. It really makes no sense.”
Exactly!

@matthewdmarsden And of the 80% allocated for schools have 80% of that redistributed by the state to other districts that bureaucrats decide need it more. When has that ever been effective. You get what you reward. Taking from successful districts to reward failing one's gets more failure.
@DFWAirport the rides rideshare directions at term D are an abomination. Seriously. Rideshare is ground transportation. There isn't a single sign that tells you to go upstairs which isn't ground transportation. What are you all thinking.
Perfectly said when you need the police in seconds they are only minutes away. Restricting law abiding citizens only harms law abiding citizens. Important to note yet again the criminal didn't recognize the laws.
As a former cop, I commend APD on their quick response.
But let's be real.
When seconds count, cops are minutes away.
Texas must repeal these gun-free zones.
Congress must pass National Carry Reciprocity.
Americans must be able to defend themselves.
