A problem with not sharing everything on social media means some important people to you also get left uninformed. They don't see you vulnerable, courageous, sacrifice, succeed, and overcome. They don't see that journey. Don't let the guilt of informing others hold you back.
Finished “Where The Crawdads Sing” last night. Well, this morning. Fine, I stayed up way too late to finish it. There are worse things I could have done (and have done) with my Sunday night. Next, “Educated.” #bookbacklog
I found my book light. But now I have to figure out how to put this room back together. And find the book I wanted to read in bed with said book light.
I wrote a thing tonight. It was just for me. I haven't wrote a thing just for me in a long time. Makes me want to write more things. There are a lot of words up there that are trying to turn themselves into something. Some thing.
A year later, COVID cases are rising, another wave is threatening, and I'm getting invites like, "Come over, everyone here has already had COVID." - No. With that track record, you probably put raisins in foods that shouldn't have raisins in them.
Irony is when I'm reading about the American Jobs Plan, and how it aims to improve our nation's infrastructure, and the power goes out because 1 tree fell on power lines a few blocks away. - Okay, I get it. I'm convinced.
Alexander Hamilton on the filibuster: “[I]ts real operation is to destroy the energy of the government and to substitute the pleasure, caprice, or artifices of an insignificant, turbulent, or corrupt junto, to the regular deliberations and decisions of a respectable majority.”
@tristamac I wish I was on that side of the globe with you. Happy birthday twin! I admire you every day, and the positive difference you are making in the world.
It takes a special kind of talent to lock yourself out of your own bathroom and then have to pick the lock without cussing and waking the rest of the house up. Still discovering talents I didn't know I have.
I wrote an Introduction. I know it's not much. But it's a start. Tomorrow going to start/resume work on the literature review. The feeling of having cranked out a little bit of writing after months of obstacles is a high I'm going to ride the rest of today. #overcomingburnout
On Winter Break from work this week and next, and trying to dedicate a little bit of time every day to do some writing on a paper that I haven't had time to work on in earnest all Fall semester. So far it's going as well as expected. (Read: It's not.)
I'm so tired. But I only have 100 cases left to code. Then I can output my cross tabulation table. And then I can go to sleep, and dream of the next step of this project: Writing.
My heart breaks for so many people after that debate. Those struggling with addiction, those who have lost loved ones to COVID, those who are targeted with unnecessary violence. Please know there are more people who love you than who hate you. Don't let hate win. #Debates2020
