Clubs paying juniors is an absolute disgrace. I hope any club that does it suffers after the siren losses for ever. If you can’t develop a culture that kids want to be part of your club is the issue and buying kids is only going to make that culture worse.

Understand sweeping changes are underway at AFL Victoria, with the AFL to absorb competitions management of the VFL and TAC Cup, the talent ID department, coaching development, Auskick, media etc. Effectively leaves AFL Vic to run community football. Might be announced soon.
