Fished a Delaware tributary from 2–4 today. Weekend rain bumped flows just enough to add a slight stain without blowing the creek out. Water temp was 58.
Sulfurs were showing and a sulfur nymph got it done. Fish were stacked in the oxygenated water and eating.

Each evening the fish move from the lake buoy into the estuary, but by morning most slide back. Something feels off, will it come together this season? Though a few manage to stay and slip into the river.

Rain bumped flows in Pulaski just enough for a great late-August salmon run Friday. By today, movement slowed and fish stacked in the estuary. Pulaski, like back home in PA, needs rain and so do the salmon.

Are you new to fly fishing and hearing “get a 9-foot 5-weight” nonstop?
Here’s why that advice makes sense, and why that rod earns a spot on your rack long after you figure things out.

I share in detail how I prepare for remote brook trout hikes here in Pennsylvania—something a lot of you have asked me about over the years.

You’ve seen it before. Someone shares a native brookie and the comments go, “Hope you used a barbless hook.” Sometimes it’s helpful. Other times, just noise.

AI search is replacing traditional Google results, giving instant answers instead of sending people to blogs, shops, or YouTube.
Is the fly fishing industry ready? I don’t think so.
