I made coffee for one this morning… and didn’t feel sad about it.
For the first time in months, I didn’t check his story. I didn’t reread our old messages. I didn’t wonder what he was doing.
I just sat by the window, drank my coffee slowly, and felt… okay.
Not happy yet. Not completely healed. But okay.
And right now, okay feels like a massive win.
Maybe healing isn’t loud fireworks and sudden happiness. Maybe it’s quiet mornings where the pain feels a little lighter than yesterday.
We talked every single night for months. He called me “baby” in private, sent good morning texts, made plans we never followed through on. I convinced myself it was real.
Then last week he said he needed space.
I gave him the entire galaxy and still found myself checking my phone like a fool, hoping for a message that never came.
I opened our chat at 3 AM, scrolled through months of memories, and just stared at the last “goodnight” he sent.
Some people don’t break your heart with a breakup. They break it slowly by keeping you in the “almost” zone… and then quietly disappearing.
