Ten seconds after she told a joke:

“Haha! I just realized how funny that was.”

[Ada @wordsfromada]

“Honestly, I feel like I’m still figuring myself out.”

[Ada @wordsfromada]

“That’s why I’m so glad to have you as a mother. I can always get my way out of trouble when it comes to you.”

Are we worried?

[Ada @wordsfromada]

“Yay cleaning is the best! No, it’s not. That was sarcasmism.”

[Ada @wordsfromada]

“Fun fact: failure is only true if you quit.”

[Ada @wordsfromada]

While hugging me: “How is this real life?? It feels like it’s a dream that you’re my mom!”

[Ada @wordsfromada]

Carter: “Mom, how old are you?”

Me: “29.”

Ada: “What! You look so old, though!”

[Ada @wordsfromada]

“I don’t want to be rich. I just care about the lifes around me.”

[Ada @wordsfromada]

“You have an extensive vocabulary.”

Ada: “Thank you! Even though I don’t know what that means!”

[Ada @wordsfromada]

Ada, talking to me: “You obviously have no idea how amazing you are. Otherwise, you’d just be shouting, ‘I’m the best! I’m the best!’ all the time.”

[Ada @wordsfromada]

After working through some addition problems on a whiteboard: “Why do I feel like a champion? Oh! Because I am a champion!”

[Ada @wordsfromada]

Me: “What do you hope your teacher learns about you?”

Ada: “That I try to be kind.”

[Ada @wordsfromada]

“Our family birthday has been so fun that I forgot about coronavirus!”

[Ada @wordsfromada]

Ada: “Carter?”

Carter: “Yeah?”

Ada: “Love you.”

Carter: “Love you, too.”

[Ada @wordsfromada]

“I currently don’t like naps because you have to miss out on so many fun stuff.”

[Ada @wordsfromada]

In the pre-dawn hours of the morning, I woke to Ada whispering in my face, “Want to hear me count by tens?”

[Ada @wordsfromada]

“Mom, is parenting hard? I feel like it’s the easiest thing in the world.”

[Ada @wordsfromada]

I caught her blowing kisses into the dessert she was making. Turns out, “It makes it sweeter.”

We finally made @chrissyteigen’s rice krispy treats and this was the result:

[Ada @wordsfromada]

After her Easter egg hunt: “Whew. That was fun but also stressful.”
