When they start accusing Israel of ‘threatening Al Aqsa’ or whatever bullshit reasons they create for their own violence and terror, know it was all fabricated!
@HannahLebovits @RebbeSMZ But you're going to get awfully weak if your body is working so hard on zero food. Which ironically makes you more likely to need a c section....
@HannahLebovits @RebbeSMZ Wait. Americans can't eat during labour? Truly? I was in labour for days with my first too, I ate several meals, including some in the hospital bed (ok, I couldn't stomach anything heavy, but still).
V thought provoking. I never thought of college being bad for Jewish identity *b/c* it leads Jews to ID w/their class over their religion. I feel like that's a bit unique to 🇺🇲, as @JewishWonk notes.
Many agree that college is bad for Jewish identity, but for other reasons.
4) This thread is prompted by the latest panic piece about the place of Jews in elite institutions and other elite settings.
I have never related to these concerns simply on class grounds. But I'd like to go further in my critique: I believe these institutions are bad for Jews.
@HannahLebovits Thank you for clarifying because I didn't grasp that implication.
So it can take only something relatively small to trigger homelessness, and then the step back up becomes enormous. But early interventions could lower that step. Is that what you're saying?
@HannahLebovits About a year ago, an American Jew told me (with total certainty) that the reason why there are so many homeless people is because they like it and chose it. I am quite sure that's not the case, but I feel like he'd seize on the stories you mention as proof.
@HannahLebovits Are you seeing any attempts to distinguish between today's "kahanism" & either Kahane himself, or latter-day kahanism? Or do those who embrace it, embrace it in its totality?
Yagel and Hillel Yaniv, two brothers who were driving their car through Huwara today when a Palestinian terrorist came and shot and killed them at point blank range.
Other Palestinians took pictures and celebrated, in Nablus they distributed sweets. Morbid celebrations of death!
@AkivaMCohen Immediately made me think of the whole "how did Moshe know that TVs are forbidden on Shabbat" thing that we found so fascinating in primary school.
(However, we moved beyond primary school)
Three Israelis were murdered last Friday only because they were Israelis. Only because they were Jews.
The murder of innocent civilians, of two little brothers, can never be justified.
These are their names.
⚡️Explosions reported in several Ukrainian regions.
Local Telegram channels reported explosions in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Donetsk oblasts late on Feb. 9 amid a massive air raid alert.
@OMTorah@MariamBarghouti When you remember that "people praying" in al-aqsa tend to be terrorists armed to the teeth, you can understand why she has trouble seeing the difference.
This is how many sports complexes in Ukraine look now, while russia and belarus, which are responsible for this, still have the rights to participate in the Olympic Games.

We need to talk about this.
Last night, on Shabbat, a gunman murdered seven innocent people outside a synagogue in Jerusalem.
This was the reaction in Palestinian cities: fireworks, street parties, children brandishing guns, sweets handed out to passersby.
This is not normal.
This is what genocidal speech sounds like. It is designed to condition you to accept as perfectly reasonable the murder of civilians, children, blowing up buses and so on. Such acts are then followed by celebration. Nobody is forced to talk this way. This is a choice.
@shaynale68 Agreed.
& there are no quick solutions. Only v long term ones, like investing in better infrastructure & education for E Jlem, which to many feels like rewarding bad behaviour, and which no politician has the farsightedness (or tbf the political life expectation) to suggest.
