Forever thinking about the women in The Odyssey:
- Penelope willing to let her kingdom crumble because she wants her man back. Real.
- Calypso meeting a man so fine she allows his CPTSD to continue so he never leaves her. Real.
- Circe hating all men because of the evil they have done so takes exposing them into her own hands. Real
- Athena haunting a man so bad his brain breaks until he can understand the error of his ways. Real
- Helen not letting people forget they were using her as excuse to move mad but are too cowardly to admit it. Real.
John Leguizamo on why he thinks Christopher Nolan chose him for Eumaeus in The Odyssey:
"I don’t know. I don’t know either! My wife has been saying that lately when we’ve been sitting down at meals. It’s as if, because I’m a Latin man, I always have to play the villain or the aggressor or a perp. So for him to think of me that way, it was fascinating. I didn’t ask him. It wasn’t a question that came to me. At lunch, I didn’t want to like, 'Oh no, you’re making a mistake.' (Laughs) It’s so unusual, but I feel like Eumaeus is more me than a lot of things I’ve been in. Chris sold it to me, as if he had to sell me anything, but he said, 'He’s the most loyal character in Western literature.' Loyalty to me is such a huge, huge virtue for me. If I could be a sociologist, it’s also such a huge part of Latin culture to be loyal to family, loyal to a friend. It’s loyalty above everything else."

"It was all the things you wanted it to be, then, all the things you wished for.
It was the delicious itch you go to scratch, that lies under the skin you can't reach, so the itch becomes unbearable.
Told you what you most want is what you most can't have.and what you most can't have, is what you already had, and lost.
It was the song of all the promises I failed to keep. And it told me I don't really want to go home. "
I'm shedding tears thinking about it, man. The feeling if regret, and longing for what we once had and lost. Something we all can relate to.
