UNC workers shouldn’t have to pay to work, end parking fees now! Join us on Wednesday, March 20 at 12 pm at South Building as we deliver our petition to Cheryl Stout, Executive Director, Transportation and Parking, as well as other ACT members.
The UNC Chapel Hill Graduate and Professional Students Senate has voted 35-6 for a resolution calling on @UNC to divest from “firms that do business with the Israeli Government or the Israeli Military, are headquartered in Israel, or are listed on an Israeli stock exchange”
We have launched a petition 2 weeks ago garnering over 400 signatures (not to mention the 2000 that signed a petition to raise pay to $20/hr & end parking fees for workers in Fall of 2022). Sign here: https://t.co/fTyFkG1LGv
At today's @MoveUNC meeting, we implore @UNC to consider eliminating all parking fees for all employees that earn less than $50k. According to your presentations, the new Employee permit fee structure would generate $2 M additional revenue. (🧵 1/3)
To end parking fees for all employees under $50k would only cost UNC $1 M, so they would still have a net of $1 M new revenue. These slides show employees earning under $50k contribute 9% of employee parking fees. 9% of $11.613 M is only $1 M. UNC can afford this!
‼️Students at 25 colleges are holding student-led actions & campaigns to kick Starbucks off their campuses today!

Y’all don’t sleep on this… the neo-confederate right is taking over every lever of state govt. NOW THIS!
GOP-appointed UNC-CH chancellor Lee Robert turns out to be not only totally unqualified, but a paid-up employee of GOP mega-donor Art Pope 💸

What is really being exposed here is the incredible number of essential local govt workers that keep our cities running that can’t afford to live here. Way too many make below $25/hr which is minimum amount needed to live here according to another new report from @EconomicPolicy
