#Survivor stars and Jeff Probst break down the coin flip created by Mr. Beast in Season 50 that doubled the winner’s prize money to $2 million.

A lawyer test-flipped the coin the night before tribal council, during which Probst realized the uneven ground could pose some problems. If the coin landed on its edge, they’d have to tell players to re-flip. “The lawyer says: There is no re-flip. Our contract is a one-flip agreement,” recalls Probst. She ran off set and, after some renegotiation, she came back and told them they were in the clear.

A great detail for the “rushing or dragging” scene from Whiplash: the outburst from Fletcher (JK Simmons) to Andrew (Miles Teller) has nothing to do with tempo.

Pure psychological games.

There are 9x takes and when Fletcher says “rushing”, “dragging” or “not my tempo”, the actual drum beats don’t match up with his corrections.

Director Damien Chazelle was a jazz drummer in high school — which inspired the film — so he def set up the scene as such.

Gloriously, a Redditor actually timed each drum attempt and confirmed Fletcher was being a dick (“The damning thing is that in the 7th take, [Andrew] is accused of rushing, even though it is slower than the 8th take, which is supposedly rushing.”)

The film is obviously about mind games but having the tempo count off is just chef’s kiss.
