@Codeye67 Ah 76 when the highest recorded temp was 35' and you were busy building primary schools out of large glass windows like greenhouses: ๐คทโโ๏ธ its not accepted to leave my dog in a car for 10 minutes in heat but my 10 yesr old should be in the same conditions as the dog for 7 hours
@David_J_Bond No, temperatures in the UK did not reach \(+40 \phantom{}^{\circ}\text{C}\) in the 1970s.During the legendary, record-breaking heatwave of 1976โwhich was the hottest summer of the decadeโthe highest temperature recorded was \(35.9 \phantom{}^{\circ}\text{C}\) in Cheltenham
@David_J_Bond You leaving your dog in the van all day them Dave? You know it's unacceptable to do that...but think its fine to put children in the same
Conditions..large glass windows, no ventilation..except the one fan and a window that opens 2 inches. Yeah nonsense..till one
Of them dies..
@GMB If you wouldn't leave your dog in the car how is it acceptable to leave your child in a classroom that has large glass windows, no aircon and 27 other people.
@northolt3103 ..primary schools are mostly made from large glass windows. My sons is..so lets stick you in a greenhouse with no air con, 27 other people who equally are not allowed outside to burn energy for 7 hours and see if you still think your solution of an ice pole works.
@ian4downton Pmsl most of them were built in the 60s. There are very few modern ones with air con. My argument is scrap free breakfast club and put air con in.
@ian4downton As a caveat to that he still went in today, tomorrow etc but is allowed home after lunch Most of our schools have adopted that policy. Seems fair enough to me but you do you.
@ian4downton My sons classroom is all glass. Could you sit in a greenhouse at 36-39
degrees outside for 7 hours with 26 other people and let us know if you still think it is ridiculous. Let is know how you get on.
@bphillipsonMP Lies. The trusts are all restructured to lose positions. Sons school replacing HT retiring with part time HT covering 2 schools. Putting extra stress on the existing staff. You just manipulate and bluff but we see you Bridget.
@bphillipsonMP Nothing is free Bridget. Us parents are proud to send our kids in having been fed, in clean clothes. Pointless waate of resources. You could have topped up pupil premium so it got to the kids who actually need it.
@higgyboson My son was sad today about something trivial at school. I read your post and thought of Edward and put my phone down and listened. Thank you Edward.
@Herr_Sensenmann@higgyboson Suicide is not cowardice. It is a million things wrapped up into one. It is the saddest most desolate event that leave ripples for generations. It is a lot of things but cowardly, no, brave no, sad yes.
