Some time ago I made a The Dark Tower non-profit fan film. Sometime later, it was taken down from YouTube for copyright infringement. Like all tower junkies, I was really excited when I heard you got the rights to TDT.

@MightStephen @chris_solnordal I don't think is anything specific, I mean the whole thing is based on King's IP, so they have the right to take it down if they want to. I'm not mad at it, just sad that all the months of work I put into it won't be available for other fans.

I got mail today. A cease and desist letter from Mr. King's lawyers for copyright infringement. They give me 10 days to take down the video and anything to do with it. Is a bummer, but I knew it was a possibility. I never made a dime out of it or intended to, and never will.

Go view THE WORLD HAS MOVED ON fan film while you still can. Projects like this *should* fall under fair use. Takedowns like this inevitably cause anger.

Perhaps someone should create a wicked DT parody, as parody usually falls under fair use... 😕

Let me be clear on that, I knew from the first click that I'll never monetize from it, even one dollar would be out of the question. When people asked for prints, a Patreon, or even NFTs, I was tempted but I knew better.

It saddest me, but I understand it. I don't know if anyone is profiting from it. For all I know maybe someone is selling prints or making a buck out of it in any other way.
