World Brain Day is celebrated annually on July 22nd. “World Brain Day” aims to promote awareness and education about brain disorders that affect persons throughout the world and emphasize brain health and the disabling consequences of an unhealthy brain.

The Action Plan aims to improve access to treatment and care and quality of life of people with neurological disorders, their carers and families as well as promote brain health across the life-course.
At the World Health Assembly in 2022, Member States adopted the Intersectoral global action plan on epilepsy and other neurological disorders 2022–2031 (IGAP) with an ambitious scope to address the long standing neglect of neurological disorders.
Over 1 in 3 people affected by neurological conditions, the leading cause of illness and disability worldwide. A major new study released by The Lancet Neurology shows that, in 2021, more than 3 billion people worldwide were living with a neurological condition.
World Brain Day encompasses initiatives to raise awareness about brain health through conversations on mental health, sharing experiences of patients suffering from brain diseases, and organizing fundraising events to support brain health activities.
World Brain Day aims to increase public awareness of brain health and disorders to widen access and reduce equity disparities. Brain disorders can be avoided, treated, and recovered from, hence the need for increased access to expert care, treatment, rehabilitation.
World Brain Day is an annual event dedicated to raising awareness about brain health and neurological disorders. It is celebrated annually with the goal of encouraging brain health, furthering research and helping people who are suffering from neurological disorders.
