At long last, my first major update to Regions Unexplored is out! This update features two new biomes, improvements in dozens of others, additions to vanilla biomes, a new mob, and so much more! It's been a huge undertaking, but it's finally complete. Happy travels!
@harristic_ It works a lot better when the biomes are similar to each other. Rivers are used as a border between the two birch forests, the two old growth taiga, and sunflower plains/flower forest.
After almost 5 years since 1.18 came out, I think it's time for the biome layout to get some structural changes to reduce microbiomes.
It wasn't *that* bad originally, but the generation of Cherry Groves, Pale Gardens, Sulfur Caves, and now Dappled Forests is reaching a point.
@gegybeans@NovaWostra 3. The processor list has a 'rule' processor with a 'location_predicate' that is anything except 'always_true'.
If all three are met, the logspam happens. Looking at the code, I'm not even sure it's fixable, but I'll certainly make a bug report for it.
@notoriouscraka@TsukiyumiArt Lithosphere has abysmal loading speeds + doesn't really work unless you have particularly high render distances. Vanilla terrain shaping is built to still be varied and interesting but also work on render distances lower than 32.
@RafaeldeVascon1 @leezadatedemais This is entirely false: the game creates and uses lower resolution textures for far away blocks. This is what the "mipmapping" setting is for.
@leezadatedemais They do not: When a texture is smaller on the screen, the game uses a lower resolution texture. This is what the "mipmap" setting is for.
When you zoom in with a spyglass, the blocks suddenly get bigger on the screen, and the normal texture is used.
@theocloudss Modrinth's gone out of their way to be neutral on AI usage, and in fact use vibe coding quite a bit in the development of their own site/related ventures.
