You didn't resist politicising the death of George Floyd in 2020. If you don't actually hold to this on principle, we must instead assume that your call to 'not politicise' is, in itself, political. In other words, you don't care a fig about politicising death. You just want us to avoid discussing Henry Nowak's death because you support the status quo that led to it in the first place.
@Sargon_of_Akkad@ZoomerHistorian Glad to see Carl pushing back against this. The Lotus Eaters need to make their right flank VERY VERY clear in this escalating environment.
@Con_Tomlinson Not sure that this event is a relatively common occurrence among British Sikhs though. If there were a trend I'd be more inclined to agree. Otherwise would rather not generalise.
The 30th Celebrity Typing Livestream will air at 9pm UK time tonight (or 4pm East Coast Time). If you want me to analyse the personality of any public figure, celebrity, historical figure, etc, then tune in tonight at this link: https://t.co/D8nV7j1U71
@Con_Tomlinson So Restore isn't just bringing non-voters back into democratic participation, it is splitting the right wing vote in an important by-election.
I don't think Reform will implode. It may diminish in your best case scenario (our worst), but it will probably linger on with the most votes on the right but not enough to win, and we'll be in deadlock for another five years whilst the country gets worse under Labour/Green coalition. Eventually, Nigel will move on, so will Rupert, so will Ben, etc. and the new generation will merge the parties back together, now that they're not caught up in this petty feuding anymore, or if no merger, one party will recover with a fresh charismatic young leader and the other two will become mere rumps like UKIP.
@Kingbingo_@Sargon_of_Akkad Would be good not to keep him out of parliament on his first attempt, and would be awkward telling OG candidate Rebecca Shepherd to stand aside for him if he were to come over to Restore and then want to stand as MP there instead of her.
@Kingbingo_@NadineDorries@reformparty_uk Last thing we need are the living examples of why people on the right are upset with Reform and moving away to pipedream alternatives to be the ones trying to convince them to come back.
The logic of this is to dismantle parties entirely, and simply break everything down issue by issue. The choice of the voters is limited by finite number of parties, when there are near-infinite variations on all manner of issues. The more parties there are, and the more engaged the electorate is on the finer differences between parties, the less likely they will actually see any change. In effect, a first-past-the-post system is about how you gerrymander the electorate as much as possible around one party rather than multiple parties. The greater the freedom of discernment, the less empowered an electorate actually is.
