My late father escaped the Soviet Union in 1974 at age 50, leaving everything behind. He arrived in Israel with almost nothing.

In 1948, Palestinian Arabs displaced just a few kilometers — no new language needed — were turned into a permanent refugee population via UNRWA.
Meanwhile, ~850,000 Jews were expelled from Arab countries. Most were absorbed by Israel (along with immigrants like my father), with no perpetual refugee status.

Iranian media production hub in Gaza partnered with German public broadcaster ZDf

Palestine Media Production (PMP) is a Gaza- and Ramallah-based media company that operates as a contracted partner for the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), providing field production and technical services for its subsidiaries Press TV and Hispan TV.

According to the Israel Defense Forces, a PMP engineer killed in an Israeli airstrike in the Al-Zawaida area yesterday, Ahmed Asʿad Muhammad Abu Matar, was identified as a platoon commander in Hamas’s Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the group’s military wing.

ZDF (Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen), Germany’s public-service television broadcaster, also confirmed a partnership with PMP as its local production company in Gaza, making PMP a shared operational vendor for both European public media and Iranian state broadcasters.

Invoices and receipts exposed in the Black Reward leak of Press TV servers (October 2022) document a structured and continuing commercial and operational relationship between PMP and the Iranian state media apparatus through Press TV and Hispan TV, both subsidiaries of IRIB.

How do we finally end the 1,400-year civilizational conflict?

This is not just Judaism versus Islamic supremacism. It is Islam versus Western civilization, with Jews and Israel as the smallest, most visible target on the front line.

If the battlefield was a game of chess, or paintball, Jerusalem and Zion is our King, or Flag, the heart and soul of Judaism, the place HaShem chose. They built their mosque on the ruins of our Temple. October 7 was explicitly the Al-Aqsa Flood. They staked their flag.

Yet we keep fighting tactical paintball wars, trading blows in Gaza, Lebanon, and elsewhere, while they steadily plant their flags (mosques on churches, temples, and now across Europe and America). We rarely, if ever, touch theirs. Examples include the Hagia Sophia, a major Byzantine Christian cathedral turned mosque after the 1453 conquest, and numerous Hindu temples in India, such as at Ayodhya, where the Babri Masjid was built on a sacred site.

We have simply been reading the board all wrong for 1,400 years.

So many analysts, politicians, and experts on both sides keep saying you cannot defeat an ideology. You cannot defeat Hamas or Hezbollah or Al Qaeda or the Islamic Regime of Iran because they do not fear death. They are an ideology.

In chess or paintball, you win by going for the opponent’s king or flag. Almost no external power has credibly put Islam’s holiest sites (Kaaba in Mecca, Medina, key Shia shrines) on the table as legitimate strategic targets. This asymmetry has let the ideology persist and advance, first against the Jews, then against the rest of the West.

Straight from the other side (MEMRI, May 2026): Dr. Nawaf Al-Takrouri celebrates Oct 7 as a monumental act. He admits the horrific costs, 70k martyrs, 150k wounded, Gaza destroyed, but calls it a natural price for launching the liberation of Al-Aqsa. He suggests a million martyrs may be needed, with the broader ummah sharing the burden (just 0.05% of the Islamic nation).

Lives are secondary. The flag is everything. And the ultimate flag is global dominance.

Deterrence thought experiment: Just as nuclear weapons are kept on the table for credibility (even if actual use is unthinkable in most scenarios), we must make clear that existential attacks on our “King” put their kings in play.

Not preemptive destruction. Not immediate escalation. A declaratory policy of “If you come for Jerusalem and Zion with everything you have, your most sacred sites become legitimate targets in response.” A graduated approach, starting with symbolic warnings on Temple Mount structures if attacks continue, escalating only as needed, could finally impose costs on their value hierarchy, where standard military or even nuclear deterrence fails against those who do not fear death.

Extreme? Perhaps yes. But endless tactical war while they advance their ideology has not brought peace in 1,400 years, and Europe is already feeling the next wave.

The goal is sustainable peace through clarity and strength, making rejectionism and supremacism too costly in their terms so that Western civilization (starting with its Jewish outpost) can finally live without perpetual holy war.

We have survived by being smarter. Time to put the real board on the table?

If we’re forced to choose between Shia Muslims and Sunni Muslims in today’s geopolitical landscape, then as a former Sunni, I can tell you, I wouldn’t hesitate for a second:

I would choose the Shia every single time.

Hezbollah has devastated Lebanon for over 30 years. They’ve hijacked the country’s sovereignty, dragged it into needless wars with Israel, dealt drugs across continents, and trained militias from Syria to Yemen.

Iran’s regime has exported chaos to the entire region.

I am not here to sanitize the destruction caused by Shia Islam.

But there is no comparison, none, between Sunni jihad and Shia jihad when it comes to the barbarity, monstrosity, and nihilism at their core.

Shia wilāya is a political-theological project rooted in eschatological hope, the belief in a coming world of justice, peace, and divine order under the awaited Mahdi.

This doesn’t make their actions justifiable, but it does mean their violence is directed, however twistedly, against what they interpret as tyrannical regimes or ideological threats.

When they target civilians, it’s typically selective, an assassination of a perceived enemy of the movement, not wholesale slaughter for religious cleansing.

This vision stems from their Muʿtazila-influenced theology, which still gives weight to human reason and moral evaluation alongside the sacred text.

Sunni jihad, by contrast, is a black hole.

It recognizes no moral hierarchy, no ethical filter, no gradation of violence.

There is no distinction between soldier and child, between combatant and teacher, between state and street.

Any non-Muslim, or even any “wrong” kind of Muslim, is a legitimate target.

Bombing a wedding, beheading an aid worker, enslaving Yazidi girls, torching churches, shooting up schools, this is not collateral damage. It is the goal.

Sunni Islam’s dominant theological school, Ashʿarism, rejects reason as a tool for understanding good and evil.

Morality, in this view, is whatever Allah commands, even if it contradicts logic, conscience, or compassion.

If the Qur’an says to kill the unbeliever, then killing is not just allowed, it is good. Period.

This is why Sunni jihadis can burn people alive, blow up their own children, or massacre entire villages, because they believe Allah said so, and that’s the end of the story.

Shia Islam, for all its flaws, is still institutional, hierarchical, and clerically mediated.

You don’t see Shia suicide bombers popping up in random countries every week because violence is still (relatively) controlled from above.

But Sunni jihad is chaotic, decentralized, and viral. Sunni theology is deontological, Shia theology is teleological.

Sunni terrorism is a Frankenstein of Wahhabism, Deobandism, Salafism, and Muslim Brotherhood ideology that teaches followers to reject all modernity, all compromise, and all mercy.
