The winner of Miss Italia 2026 is Sarah Maria Rizea, an 18-year-old artistic swimmer (synchronized swimming) from Vado Ligure in Liguria. She was crowned on September 21, 2026, at Castello di Santa Severa.

She represented Liguria as Miss Liguria, was born in Moncalieri (Turin) to Romanian parents, studies Psychology at Sapienza University in Rome, and competes for Fiamme Oro and the Italian national artistic swimming team. She has won around 100 medals, including a European silver and a junior world bronze. Second place went to Michela Meli (Lazio) and third to Sara Genova (Calabria). It is Liguria’s first Miss Italia title since 1975.

Not by asking. In 1884, 25 nations sat down in Washington to pick 1 line for the world's clocks. France wanted Paris. Germany wanted Berlin. Some wanted the middle of the Pacific.

But the sailors had already voted. 2 thirds of the ships on earth steered by British charts, because for 200 years the Observatory at Greenwich had kept the navy's time, and for 50 of them a red ball had dropped from its roof at 1 o'clock so every captain on the Thames could set his watch. The world's shipping already ran on our time. The vote just admitted it. 22 to 1.

That's how Britain does things. Not by asking. By being the thing everyone already relies on.

So every time zone on earth is still counted from a brass strip in a London park. You can stand on it, 1 foot east and 1 foot west. Most of London doesn't know it's there.
