Plastic for Change focuses on strengthening inclusive plastic recovery systems in Zambia, with a particular dedication to supporting informal waste collectors, women, and youth. Following its recognition as an APGYD, the organization launched Zambia’s very first national plastic recovery initiative. By integrating informal waste pickers into structured recycling systems and establishing international value-chain partnerships, the program turns environmental waste services into formal, dignified, and stable livelihoods.

The “Wasted Treasures” project, aims to address environmental and energy issues in Lebanon by converting organic waste into biomass fuel. The program has processed 350 tons of organic waste and produced 315,000 biomass products, reducing heating costs by 60% for over 100 households. It has partnered with more than 50 farmers and created 13 jobs.

Eco Pakhta in Kyrgyzstan
The “Eco Pakhta” project, led by Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I-Razzakov, aims to address environmental pollution and low energy efficiency by developing an eco-friendly insulation material made from recycled materials. The program has successfully optimized the insulation material to ensure it is fire-resistant, non-toxic, and affordable. It has increased the environmental awareness of over 1,000 community members and reduced heating and cooling costs by 30%.

The “Agents of Change” project, led by Indian Youth Climate Network, focuses on enhancing youth awareness and practical capabilities in the circular economy.
