@Aquelequeajuda I’m not complaining about realism, I’m saying that it feels like the show forgot that vought was always the big bad and in the end of the day homelander was just their product. the ending is instead framed like the boys won and now that he’s dead all the evil is defeated
the boys had the most cynical ending with vought maintaining all of it’s power and stan getting away with everything, yet because the epilogue is written like a disney movie it tonally feels like a happy ending and it’s really weird
homelander was a villain and needed to die but i can’t believe the series ends with the death of an exploited abused child rather than the collapse of the company and system that created him
they're back to like end of s3/start of s4 status quo really. the psychics & the speedsters are still out there, the vought lab that experimented on homelander was still running in s4, there isn't even a gesture towards reform within vought. but great work gang you may retire now
I think my respect for Starr has just shot up into the stratosphere.
Dude was genuinley trying to put work into making his character unique/intimidating and Kripke at every point was like, "but how can we tie this back to TRUMP????"
And Anthony was the one to pull him back.
