All kidding aside, Wendy’s founder Dave Thomas was a great man, and surge pricing does nothing to honor his legacy or what @Wendys ever stood for.

Dave was born in Atlantic City, NJ but was adopted by a couple from Kalamazoo, MI a few months after he was born (honorary Michigander).

Today, Wendy’s corporate has one of, if not the most, generous adoption benefit plans of any major corporation that I’ve seen (if there’s a better one let me know).

- Bonding leave
- PTO for adoption
- Financial assistance for each adopted child (up to $30k)

On the charitable side, The Dave Thomas Foundation took in $45M in 2022 and spent just shy of $25M in adoption grants alone.

Dave Thomas was also an early advocate for the adoption tax credit that was signed into law under Pres. Bill Clinton in 1997.

Sad that this isn’t what’s leading the news cycle when it comes to Wendy’s…
