My small children enjoy potion making and I've brought up the idea of meditation, having them choose a mantra, etc. My 3 yo today mushed a couple ideas together to end up with
"I am peaceful like a bear"
And I cannot begin to describe to her the layers of how good that is
@simplyserotonin Not to confuse you about resources but I only used med school bootcamp step 1 study schedule and felt confident on exam day and very good about my chances at the end of the day. Do with this what you will.
@CorsIAQ Built three and replaced the filters on one so far. There are folks who live downstairs from us and share central air. Gave them a box early on, a vital part of our post exposure protocol which we just recently used. One got word of exposure before symptoms and none of us got it.
@yuliakiii @DrSarahAxelrath And now we've learned a lot more and some of us have seen that there is enough evidence to change our ways. Did you know we almost eliminated pediatric deaths from the flu in the U.S. that season we all wore masks?
period of rapid improvement over about 6 wks and now I'm almost symptom free. I'm incredibly grateful but will never forget the uncertainty and how little folks cared that it was so debilitating.
All that to say - the disabled community is right. Listen to those most affected.
~Two years ago I had my second (known) covid infection but was asymptomatic. Only tested because someone living downstairs from me said she'd been exposed at a dinner. I developed cardiac symptoms and migraines and didn't know if it would ever improve. 3 months ago began a (1/2)
Almost every GOP candidate made one very excellent point tonight which makes their nonsense even more effective. I'm so frustrated that people actually believe this shit.
@olsonplanner There's a whole European style of clothes drying that leaves things damp so they can be hung up and finish drying without wrinkles and tbh I get it but I hate it
People say, "I can't take care of other people unless I take care of myself first." And they'll use that sentence to justify vacationing in Hawai'i, or dining indoors during an airborne plague.
@laurenancona Literally had a fellow med student argue recently that some amount of paternalism in medicine is good actually because the people don't know enough to make good decisions without our guidance.
Yes. I knew gay kids, trans kids, and more. Every single one of them was hiding. If no one shared who they were with you then they could probably tell even back then that you weren't a safe person to be honest with.
We have an attending who routinely asks people, most patients included, if they eat beaver.
He is unaware of it as a colloquial expression.
He's just worried about everyone getting Giardia.
In case anyone else needs a reason to mask today - my mother is spending her ENTIRE VACATION sick, mostly isolating in her own room. We can't risk getting sick or we'll have to cancel our kids' bday party Saturday for the second year in a row. No thank you.
