Salming's Final NHL Jersey 🔥🪽
Take a look at this Detroit Red Wings red jersey worn by defenseman Börje Salming during the 1989-90 NHL season and the final game of his legendary NHL career on April 1, 1990. The jersey has been photo-matched to Detroit's 3-3 tie against the Philadelphia Flyers at The Spectrum through multiple identifying characteristics, including marks on the crest, a mark on the left sleeve number "2," and a thread on the right sleeve number "2." Salming appeared in 49 games for the Red Wings during his lone season in Detroit, recording 19 points (2 G, 17 A).
Over an incredible 17-year #NHL career, including 16 seasons with the Maple Leafs, the Swedish defenseman played 1,148 games, totaling 787 points (150 G, 637 A) while establishing himself as one of the sport's all-time greats. A six-time NHL All-Star and multiple-time James Norris Memorial Trophy finalist, Salming was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1996 and was later named one of the NHL's 100 Greatest Players in 2017. Just heard the news on #ClaudeLemieux
This is extremely sad no matter what feelings from past or present you hold. My thoughts and prayers to his family and friends and people who got to see the person off the ice wasn’t the person on. As I’ve said and will always call it as I see it
“If your on the ICE with Claude Lemieux and your turn your back. YOU Are an IDIOT.
But off the ICE I’ll turn mine”
And please. If you are struggling at all please reach out and talk to someone
Godspeed my friend
