We're preparing for our @BrewDog event to benefit Worth Wild Africa. We'll have conservationists speaking, teaching puzzles for kids, a raffle for African art, and live animals from the Columbus Zoo. This free event is next Thursday at Dog Tap in Canal Winchester, Ohio from 5-7!
Central Ohio friends, please join us for a free event benefitting the important conservation work done by Worth Wild Africa, sponsored by @BrewDogUSA and The Kuzo Group. Hope to see you there!
I had a great opportunity to talk to the class of 2024 at America's Teaching Zoo. What a great team of students! We stayed with the basics but went in-depth with them. You can never have too much time spent on the smallest unit of behavior.
The KUZO Group had a great time at @hemker_zoo last night for a fundraiser for Worth Wild Africa. We are so inspired by their work! Here's a short video showing just a bit of it. ❤️ #conservation#bethechange#Africa
Stopped at @bearizona last weekend to take a look at the cool presentations they are doing. So much fun behavior and audience participation. Amy and her team did a great job connecting with the audience and keeping the animals the stars. Keep up the great behaviors and training!
Tortoise UPDATE: Yesterday, two of the four Galapagos tortoises at the Wildlife World Zoo walked over 250 feet from their winter to summer habitats. Congratulations to the Tropics team for training them so quickly while working at each animal’s pace!
Small approximations at the animal’s pace. As we started teaching the sulcata, or spur-thighed tortoise, at the Wildlife World Zoo to touch her beak to the red bucket, I thought back to the first we trained this way at the Animal Programs department at the @ColumbusZoo.
We were so fortunate to see and learn about this beautiful girl on our last Conservation Safari. Now, we're ecstatic to be able to share that she has babies! For the African cat that's moving most rapidly toward extinction, this is huge! #conservation#cheetah#protectwhatyoulove
Yesterday we took training at the Wildlife Encounters show to new heights. Our black-tailed hairy dwarf porcupine got to spend some time exploring her new show furniture.
On my way to work with the staff at the Wildlife World Zoo in Phoenix, I stopped by to see some great friends and awesome trainers at Window to the Wild in Dallas. Lindsey and Simon, together with Sophie and Avery, reminded me of how important the generalizing of behavior is.
We love this picture of our friends at the @DakotaZoo getting the new trading cards KUZO developed for them! Each card features an animal from their collection, species information, conservation status, and a conservation message. #buildingempathy#guestengagement#conservation
Such a great team to work with. Those cards look amazing. I can’t wait to see the empathy inspiring Wild Happenings that go with them! #dakotazoo#wildhappenings#trainingthetrainers
