@reactjs Read about useEventEffect a bit, don't see the benefit over:

This `ref` pattern seems more explicit / less error prone to me. Anything I'm missing?

@_georgemoller Be aware that `scrollIntoView` gets called with `null` when the component unmounts. This version will error. Rather use `(node: HTMLDivElement | null)` and `node?.scrollIntoView(...)`.
