Wovenfest

Tiny festival, Nottingham, Saturday 9 June 2012, with music from @SingleBass plus books, arts, ideas, things to try, & a garden to picnic in if sunny...

[Wovenfest @Wovenfest]

Big thanks to everyone who contributed to Wovenfest! and that's a lot of people!

[Wovenfest @Wovenfest]

Various people now ordering in takeaway which I'm about to share some of! Last @SingleBass set due at 7pm.

[Wovenfest @Wovenfest]

Lovely vibes here, children playing in toys corner & garden, not crammed but steady hum of people - have done 2 sets out of 3 so far

[Wovenfest @Wovenfest]

@quarridors think it's very possible some would get eaten here... or I could take some home if they're left over :-)

[Wovenfest @Wovenfest]

Just a quick reminder of the Wovenfest phone number: 0794 115 1276.

[Wovenfest @Wovenfest]

Everything very hectic here with last-minute things! Soon to head up to venue - doors open 1pm, first Single Bass set 2pm.

[Wovenfest @Wovenfest]

@quarridors Well if you don't make the first set, don't worry too much 'cause best two "gender theme" songs are in sets 2 & 3 i.e. 4pm & 7pm

[Wovenfest @Wovenfest]

Just in from Wovenfest setup. Friend (helping) commented on how distracting the book-browsing table was - I think that's a good sign :-)

[Wovenfest @Wovenfest]

Had an excited moment when I saw weather forecast for Saturday afternoon now says "Sunny Intervals" - but not counting on anything...

[Wovenfest @Wovenfest]

Oh I forgot the Amnesty Junior Action Network stuff, and the game where you guess the carbon footprint of the food you eat!

[Wovenfest @Wovenfest]

... fabric collage, co-operative board games, little play house, toys, wildflower garden... & for surplus energy, Arboretum <400 yards :-)

[Wovenfest @Wovenfest]

For children (& adults!) at Wovenfest: Storyteller, zine/booklet-making, Yoga Pretzel cards & a cushion-mat area to try out the moves...

[Jennifer Single Bass @SingleBass]

Slightly amazed myself with how many songs I've got now - planning 3 x 30 mins, still had songs left over that I think of as "current".

[Jennifer Single Bass @SingleBass]

Spent an hour or more last night noodling with set lists for @Wovenfest and playing through things.

[Wovenfest @Wovenfest]

(Amused by how English it is to have pre-Wovenfest weather discussions)

[Wovenfest @Wovenfest]

Four days to Wovenfest, & I've seen Saturday's weather forecast! "Unsettled". So far, they're predicting sun early afternoon & rain later.

[Wovenfest @Wovenfest]

But lots of food for thought about textual framing too. Pretty sure V2 is better than V1 & have since had input which would've improved V2.

[Wovenfest @Wovenfest]

One lesson I have learned, not political or textual, is "Quiz lots of different people about drafts before going to print"!
