@wolf201257 Mate actually said in an interview that they use the electric motor to help it rev quickly even in neutral. Obviously it’s still a deeply impressive engine and would probably still be nuts without it, but they are cheating a little.
@NetworkDirecto1@TheFigen_ Mixed person here. Almost always there is an “other” box. I do that if “two or more races” or just selecting both white and black is not an option.
@loveofdoing Sure, they can and did happen quickly, deliberate breeding will do that. Point is that the morphological changes indicated in that graphic did not occur in the Paleolithic along with domestication, but much much more recently.
@loveofdoing Space arrays would be holy grail, though 'location' relative to earth goes out the window, as anything high enough to be geostationary gets pretty much constant sun. If on the surface, probably just easier to build near the equator since it gets 3X+ the energy flux on average.
@loveofdoing Seems an issue of proportionality of force, not source. Similar cases (Garner, Floyd) where the source of violence was an officer, also resulted in civil/criminal liability. Another way, would there be charges against Penny, or a cop, if Neely was restrained without being killed?
@loveofdoing Why would anyone take on that level of liability for actions outside their control? Would they take out insurance for this? What happens if they are not able to cover liability? Obv most can't even cover their own assets/actions right now and pool risk, let alone anyone else's.
@loveofdoing I get that, but distinctions are arbitrary. What is a useful concept for cognitive economy, a crab, is not helpful for biological study, true crabs vs false crabs. Useful definitions for concept formation and describing evolutionary processes may not be the same. Hence, new word.
