@Kirsten_GCHC@GCH_Charity@RHCGlasgow What a fabulous addition to what you are able to do.
Ronald McDonald House was always so important but this will make a huge difference to families at the toughest of times.
Thank you to everyone involved in making it happen ππ
@Timheming I used to organise school cross country races in Derby with @liamdnufc when Hugo Milner was at school. He annihilated every field week after week. It is great to see his ability coming through at international level now
@jstockwood@guardian_sport Hi Jason. Delighted to hear you enjoyed boccia at the Paralympic Games.
As Head of Sport at Boccia England, I would be delighted to invite you to one of our competitions this year to introduce you more fully to the most inclusive sport in the world.
@lesleymac6 Really pleasing that someone from an Olympic sport has a breadth of vision to see the potential impact on non-Olympic sports.
Consideration is also needed for Para sports in the planning.
@MrsBesenzi Hard to believe a year had gone by already.
It is heartening to see school and community continuing to remember Hussein so positively.
I hope you are all doing well
@MichaelWeadock@AnythingbutF That could work. It would just need to avoid FIFA World Cups and Commonwealth Games in those alternate years.
Would be interesting to see who came forward to host. Would it be more appealing than the Commonwealth Games for hosts, sponsors, broadcasters?
@KatharineMerry Pidock and Yee for very similar reasons. Late drama in both. The determination, passion and refusal to accept the race was over for either of them
@alexewing_@editor_drs Thank you for doing such a consistently amazing job with these.
However, please do try to make me slightly less tearful in future.
I really hope this is confirmed soon. Glasgow was fabulous in 2014. Such a beautiful and welcoming city. This would be a lovely excuse to get back up there
Exclusive: Some good news for the Commonwealth Games, I am hearing. Multiple people have told me during the @olympics at @paris2024 that @thecgf have reached an agreement with Scotland for Glasgow to host the 2026 Commonwealth Games. They will replace Victoria, who withdrew last year. An announcement is due shortly after the end of these Olympics - maybe even this week.
@bigdaddybunce I've loved your commentary and insight throughout the Games, Steve.
Love for the sport, sure, but the care for people and their stories has been fabulous to listen to. Thanks for the insight
