Dolly Parton was one of the few people who truly embodied what it meant to pay it forward. She lived with kindness and worked to truly provide a meaningful change in the world. You don't see that often anymore, which is why she deserves to be revered and remembered forever.

Dolly Parton's father couldn't read. So she started mailing free books to children through her Imagination Library (founded in in honor of her father), every month, until they turned five, and never charged a family a dime for it.

She gifted over 325 million free books to children worldwide. 325 million. That's the legacy.

She will always be remembered as a champion of the people.
