Spine always grows in the back that is against the wall. America denied us crucial LOX/LH₂ cryogenic engine technology. We developed it indigenously and using it we now send American satellites into space.
India can remain sovereign only if it has a sovereign AI. @narendramodi
Today, India takes a defining step in its civil nuclear journey, advancing the second stage of its nuclear programme.
The indigenously designed and built Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor at Kalpakkam has attained criticality.
This advanced reactor, capable of producing more fuel than it consumes, reflects the depth of our scientific capability and the strength of our engineering enterprise. It is a decisive step towards harnessing our vast thorium reserves in the third stage of the programme.
A proud moment for India. Congratulations to our scientists and engineers.
I must confess that until recently I had never heard of Phool Dei, a spring festival that was celebrated yesterday in the villages of Uttarakhand.
Children gather fresh flowers from the hills and go from house to house placing them on doorsteps, offering a blessing for the household:
“Phool Dei, Chhamma Dei,
Deni Dwar, Bhar Bhakar…” roughly wishing the home prosperity.
In return they receive sweets.
It reminded me a little of Halloween in the U.S., where children go door to door saying “trick or treat.” But what a lovely contrast. Here the children arrive not threatening a prank, or asking first, but giving first. Flowers.
In an age when we speak so much about environmental consciousness, this graceful celebration of spring and nature deserves to be far more widely known.
Just as Holi travelled across India and the world, perhaps Phool Dei should too.
For me, the children of Uttarakhand are my #MondayMotivation
He's Ranjit Yadav from Shekhpura, Bihar.
As soon as the news broke that he had secured Rank 440 in this year's UPSC, he was invited by the local RJD MLA, who honoured him and gave him a cash gift. The local police station also invited him and felicitated him. People from across the district began inviting him for ceremonies and public felicitations. He even started giving motivational speeches like this:
“If you cannot clearly see your goal, then no matter how hard you work, or how much guidance your teachers give you, you will not achieve success. Success comes only when you can clearly see your destination. Don’t blame your luck. Work so hard to reach your goal that even luck itself comes and says, here son, this was meant for you.”
A few days later, people discovered that Rank 440 actually belonged to a Ranjith from Karnataka, not to Ranjit Yadav. Now everyone is searching for Ranjit, but he has disappeared and is currently absconding.
*Takeaways from Vishal Sikka interview*
1. *Disruption is Real but Gradual* -> While the application of generative AI to knowledge work is a "real" disruption that is "here," large enterprises are like "civilizations" or "countries"; their complexity means adoption takes significant time.
2. *The Gap Between Potential & Reality* -> Addressing fears of immediate price deflation, Sikka notes there is a "gap" between the potential of AI and the "actual reality of creating an enterprise-ready offering". Whether it hits a particular project or quarter "depends on the nature of the situation," and for many complex services, it "might take years" for these new offerings to show up.
3. *The Lesson of Waymo* -> Sikka notes that autonomous driving was proven at Stanford 20 years ago, yet today Waymo still accounts for "less than 1% of all the taxi type rides" in the US, illustrating that technological breakthroughs take decades to fully diffuse.
4. *Acceleration through Integration* -> The pace has accelerated shaprply (in the last few weeks) because "frontier model companies have integrated tools into the models," such as Python interpreters & compilers, making them exponentially more powerful & easier to integrate into workflows.+
5. *The Productivity Leap* -> Sikka highlights a staggering real-world example where a student rebuilt a site that previously took 15 people over nine months by himself in just 14 days.
6. *The "Jagged Frontier"* -> Not all tasks or people see the same gains; productivity increases depend on the "nature of the task" & whether the individual has the "fundamentals" to wield AI effectively.
7. *Deflationary Pressure is Conditional* -> Whether AI hits a specific project's pricing or a particular quarter's revenue depends on the "service line" & the "nature of the situation," as the gap between AI's potential & enterprise reality varies.
8. *Strategy in Minutes, Not Months*-> Using his product, Hila, Sikka's customers performed complex business "scenario simulations" in "one minute to five minutes" that would have normally taken "armies of people" & months to execute. He highlights this example to point out that AI is being used not to just code faster but also for strategy purposes.
9. *Switch from Operators to Creators* -> The fundamental challenge for India's IT professionals is to "switch from being operators and executors of what is known, towards being creators and innovators of what is not yet known".
10. *Adaptation is the Survival Equation* -> India has thrived through disruptions like Y2K, mobile & cloud; the current goal is to "adapt to this and make it a tailwind" faster than it destroys the prior generation of work. Much like how everyone is now a "photographer" because of phone cameras, AI is shifting power to the end user. Sikka warns, "it behooves us to find opportunities in that shift... There is not that much time"

My maid is a conspiracy theorist with a special interest in deep state.
Today, over breakfast, I had a deep conversation with her about the UGC rules. I asked her why Modi would approve of such a thing. She said, remember, there are two rules.
One: if Modi is doing something that his common voters think he should not have done, like worsening the SC/ST Act or the UGC rules, it’s because he has pre-empted some deep state plan to internally sabotage our country and has taken steps to thwart it. They may sound harsh now, but you’ll realise their importance in the long term. It’s a Test match, not a T20.
Second: if Modi didn’t do something that his common voters think he should have done, like not acting against Bengal poll violence or the 26 January Lal Qila attack, then it’s because he realised the deep state wanted him to act. So he thwarted their plan by not acting, thereby foiling the conspiracy to internally sabotage our country.
She said everything can be explained by the deep state, Soros, the CIA, and internal sabotage and some random analogy. You just have to connect loose ends and create an illusion of a pattern. For example, why UGC protests when the country is going through economic uncertainty due to Trump tariffs? Think. Think! Yes, deep state!
I was impressed. She is a good teacher too. Many of her trained students can be found all over social media.

TRUMP’S ALGORITHM AND INDIA:
1. There is no morality or friendship factor, regardless of verbal praise or hugs. Only pragmatic self interest. Hard Realism. Soft power is irrelevant.
2. Policy driven by MAGA base & CIA.
3. Desire to “change history” using hypermasculinity.
4. USA has only 5 years of military advantage over China. Hence, big changes must be done urgently.
5. Pak gamified Trump’s algorithm by offering: boots on the ground in Gaza to do America’s dirty work post Hamas; air base offer for USA in Baluchistan; sellout of natural resources to US corps; favors for Trump family ventures. All brokered through Qatar-Pak infiltration in Washington think tanks.
6. Bangladesh policy driven to get military base there.
7. Military intervention in Nigeria in the garb of protecting Christian minority - under pressure from Church.
8. Oil takeover in Venezuela in the pretext of fighting corruption & drugs - though there are many worse examples of this elsewhere.
9. Europe pushed to spend on own defence, while strategic interest shifted to Middle East with SArabia-Qatar-Pak axis.
10. Iran attacked to solidify alliance with Sunni Arabs and Israel.
11. Russia & China too powerful (HARD power) to mess with militarily. Ukraine not strategically vital. Taiwan important only for 5 years until semiconductor supply chain gets domesticated.
12. AI related tech is top priority for US Military-Industrial Complex to become leading superpower again. Close contest with China.
=> Hello India! The battlefield is not emotional feel good victories in social media. (I am guessing that the relevant experts are already cognizant of all this.) 🙏🙏🙏

As someone who doesn’t belong to the ‘petrol lobby’, I can safely confirm:
-massive drop in mileage
-corrosion
-long term damage to the engine.
-waste of country’s water resources
All these issues are real. Forcing E20 blended fuel onto an entire population with no other option is completely unwarranted.
Dear Nitin Gadkari ji,
When we ask you to provide Pure Unleaded Petrol as an option in the Bunks across Bharat apart from E20, it is only because 95% of vehicles are not built for E20. You know that. We know that. For the same price, we need Pure Option.
Let me clarify on behalf of all.
- We don't get paid for posting this, infact we post this so that you can rethink and take action.
- We are not part of any petroleum lobby, just plain tax paying citizens of Bharat.
- You have still not instructed Vehicle Insurance companies to put a clause saying that they will accept all claims when E20 is being filled in all vehicles. Pls do so at the earliest.
- The Non E20 (maybe E10 or E0) price should be same so that customers can fill what suits their vehicles.
- Please ask Ministry of Petroleum to be more accomodating & respectful of Citizens needs.
- Please take responsibility for this sir. It affects more than 95% of Bharat Vehicles.
We have a lot of respect for you @nitin_gadkari ji. You are one of the most sensible in the team,
Please do not call us a lobby and reduce your status sir. Tagging our PM @narendramodi ji as well.
As always, I am sure you will introspect and take necessary action.
On behalf of all Indians who still own Non E20 Vehicles,
#FI
Deeply appreciate and fully reciprocate President Trump's sentiments and positive assessment of our ties.
India and the US have a very positive and forward-looking Comprehensive and Global Strategic Partnership.

Your annual reminder that satya, ahinsa, satyagrah had no role in Britain’s decision to free India. The real reasons:
1. WWII left Britain bankrupt, owing huge debts, making colonial administration too costly.
2. That debt was mostly from the US, which opposed old-style imperialism via the Atlantic Charter (1941) and pressured the UK to decolonize.
3. The Labour Party came to power in 1945 in the UK. It was openly anti-imperialist, seeing the empire as a burden and focusing on building the welfare state instead of maintaining colonial rule.
4. The western world was seeing a rise of anti-colonial sentiments. WWII’s rhetoric of freedom and democracy clashed with imperial rule; colonialism was increasingly seen as hypocritical and illegitimate globally.
5. The United Nations came into existence, and its 1945 Charter encouraged self-government; Britain faced international scrutiny and moral pressure to grant independence.
6. The rise of armed nationalist movements in colonies like India and Palestine made governance costly and unstable. The British army was overstretched, under-equipped, and war-weary, unable to manage widespread armed insurgencies.
As a result, Britain freed over 60 colonies after WWII, usually based on their economic value and the resources needed to control them. Only one of these had satya, ahinsa, satyagrah. If that really worked, India would have been free decades earlier; Gandhi had been waving that banner for years, and the British didn’t budge until they were broke and exhausted.
So the idea that dedi hame aazadi bina khadag bina dhaal is is simply not true.
