If there is anything to learn from The Scouring of the Shire, it is that the truth of the King's reign must be pushed into every square inch of the corners of the world.
This is the good work. This is our good work.
@resisfertile as the ancients did. This post smacks of the origin fallacy.
Brother, I value you and your online presence greatly. I probably couldn't win a debate with you on most issues, but this line of reasoning fails to meet the standard of all your other content. 😔
@resisfertile I appreciate your expertise (really, I value your content very greatly!) but you seem to imply there is nothing which can be recovered or utilized by Christians in a meaningful way from the ancient world as well as ignore that nobody I know, anyway, is pursuing cCe exactly
@resisfertile John, this is a bit of a strawman, don't you think? You point to the pagan version when the majority of the liberal arts resurgence has been by Christians, who prioritize Christian discipleship and Biblical fidelity in education. I've got my fair share of criticisms
@LadyNimby Honestly, our new fridge is an upright fridge-only, no freezer. Two deep freezes downstairs, fridge/freezer on carport. We store 10 galls of milk a day from our cows but the rest is for us.
@resisfertile We think college is fine under a specific set of circumstances, otherwise we're working hard to buck the stereotype that well educated high school graduates must attend college. I realize we're the minority, though. Hopefully not for long. Wish us luck!
@resisfertile Classical ed proponent here. Our new k-12 has started a mechanical arts program that gets kids apprenticing at 16, after spending the morning in the classroom. Goal is to build mech arts into the entire k-12 program, not just for the MA emphasis students.
@Midwiferirony Midea came recommended from a friend who works at Lowe's. Apparently it's the company making some other name brands but they've started selling directly and are supposedly a solid machine for an average price. We love it! I don't get the remote start option, though. Odd.
