@arejander@Manhattva That's what I was getting. She has been conditioned to think of nuclear as the bomb only I guess. And she appears to be a nurse. Hopefully she is better at her job than she is at--critical thinking.
@HiMay8TAte@Manhattva@Lovemyproxy I still don't know what I watched. It sounded like she thought nuclear power was going to kill everyone and all we had to do was program computers more efficiently. That was hard to watch.
So let me get this straight, I go to the grocery store and buy a pound of sliced ham in a plastic bag, a loaf of bread in a plastic bag, a gallon of milk in a plastic jug, a pack of napkins in plastic wrap, a store-made salad in a plastic 1 tub, a plastic bottle of mustard and ketchup, but they won’t give me a plastic bag to carry at home because the plastic bag is bad for the environment?
As a Gen Xer, how many times have you started typing a reply to a post, gotten halfway through, and then realized you just don’t care enough to finish it?
@FaeriPinkett@__saintly@downbadcomment That would be way too much for a lot of people or families to spend. But $600 might be doable. Depends on the situation. If you can't feed your kids because of vet bills, some hard choices need to be made.
Last night, I read the entirety of C.S. Lewis' The Screwtape Letters. It's a novel told in the form of letters written by a demon to another demon instructing him on ways to manipulate his "patient" to do evil.
This one quote sounded familiar.
@josephpmbrtn It doesn't help the giver either. Personally performing charitable acts for family, friends, and neighbours has a meaningful impact on you and your soul.
