@MPowersNorrell @MPowersNorrell - Even though you have run as a D in the past and I am a solid R, I find your posts to be relevant and fair. I firmly believe that most actions by government move at glacial speed, equally bad would be to rush through actions like this.

@MPowersNorrell Love this post and the irrelevant replies (and your response). Better for graduations to have someone out of politics with an uplifting story that the students can relate to in their lives. Have the politicians back for spirited debate later.

@WynnWs Still remember the shock of this event. Walked into the Baptist Student Union at Georgia Tech & there was no sound - everyone was looking at the TV watching the contrails of the explosion. Everything stopped - this was only a few years after Astronaut John Young spoke at Tech

@realBOTwriter @honeygirl1978 @jamiedupree My apologies - used the wrong word - meant to say debt. I think biggest point I’ve tried to make (and maybe haven’t done the best job) is that both parties keep adding to our total debt and in order to reduce total debt we have to run a surplus

@honeygirl1978 @jamiedupree From the numbers I see, our deficit increased as follows: Bush: $4.8 trillion, Obama: 9.3 trillion, Trump: $7.8 trillion, Biden: $9.7 trillion - No democrat or republican in recent history has reduced our overall debt while in office

@HenryWilliams74 @jamiedupree Good discourse on topic but I stand by my statement. Our debt has increased under every President - both parties - going back to WWII - and during that time Congress has been split, controlled by Republicans and controlled by Democrats.

@jamiedupree That goes back to my lack of faith in either party. I broke the numbers down for my life group at church and it’s staggering on how much additional revenue is required or reduction in spending to map out a plan to pay down the total deficit in 50 years.
