Canada's "criminal justice " system in a nutshell: Woman goes to court to ask a judge for a protection order against her abuser. Judge recommends mediation instead. Shortly after, the abuser murders her. This is negligence and this is why we are suing the government.

Judges who make "mistakes" that cost others their lives are failing at their fundamental duty. They have a responsibility to ensure justice is done and peace is kept, and zero accountability to the people they serve when they are greivously wrong.

It is our moral failing if judges do not pay a price for being wrong. Unlike victims, they lose nothing if they are wrong. Taxpayers and victims of their poor judgement will continue to pay their salaries whether they are right or wrong.

Taxpayers are sick of paying these people to protect us. They expose us to murderers and make our lives and our country worse. Corrupt and incompetent institutions and governments are worse than having no institutions or government. I'd rather pay nothing and get nothing than pay through the nose to get worse than nothing.

I'm glad to hear of the resignation of the trustee with Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board who refused to repay his share on a trip to Italy that ended up costing taxpayers nearly $190,000. It shouldn't have taken legislation to get to this point, and he still owes thousands of taxpayer dollars.
