As your AC's are likely humming away tonight notice how many more cooling degrees there are in summer now. There is one cooling degree day for every degree the average temp for a day is over 65F. Energy companies use these to gauge usage. (heating degrees days are under 65F).

The average dew point in summer, June-August has been going up steadily and is a big factor in why our nights don't get as cool anymore. The temperature can't go below the dew point, a higher dew point means higher overnight lows.
