A wild surprise to have - finally - gotten around to listening to @DavidNaimon's between the covers conversation with Percival Everett, only to realize I was hearing my own @PorterHouseLit review of the trees featured in the intro!

My first print pub!!!
My short-short story “Red on Yellow” (which is also the prologue to my novel-in-progress) is out in issue #57 of @Salamander_Mag!!! (P.S. It was rejected 48 times over three years of submitting, and yet ended up in one of my favorite literary magazines!)
“Shy” (@GraywolfPress) marks another development in Max Porter’s singular, polyphonic style, distinguishing itself as his most urgent book yet.

My beloved MFA student @MosabAbuToha was arrested in #Gaza yesterday by the IDF. I know him to be an honorable man, husband & father of 3 kids, a decorated poet who came to us from Harvard. No one cares wot I think, but I demand his release, by all that is just&holy. @NewYorker
Writerly twit-verse, any recs for good literary essays on learning a skill/acquiring literacy in something? I'm having students write a literacy narrative this sem. and looking for examples that engage w/literacies beyond language (which I have some good'ns for already)
.@GregAbbott_TX just accidentally posted a satire article because he wants to hate on queer Texans and Garth Brooks so bad.
The Texas Country Jamboree doesn’t exist. Hambriston, Texas is not real. And the Governor is not fit to tweet, much less govern.
Happy pride! 🏳️🌈
A great conversation and a great book - check out both & then see whether you agree with my take. Thanks for paying attention to up-and-coming lit journals, David!

I'm suing.
The recent actions violate my 1st amendment rights, as well as the rights of my 11,000 constituents to representation.
Montana's State House is the people’s House, not Speaker Regier’s, and I’m determined to defend the right of the people to have their voices heard.

An old friend used to quiz me on flora and fauna,
pointing and asking what’s that? but now won’t
even say my undeadname..."

The entire @missoulian opinion page—14 LTEs from Kalispell, Hamilton, Florence, Missoula—all expressing support for @ZoAndBehold and disdain for @MTGOP. #mtpol
What is happening inside the walls of the Montana State Capitol, does not at all represent the city or the people outside of those walls.
The City of Helena chooses love over fear every time and stands with Rep. @ZoAndBehold — who will continue to outshine the GOP-led extremism that seeks to silence her voice.
So Don Lemon got fired for … doing his job?
A ✌🏾presidential candidate✌🏾that says the NRA helped Black people secure their rights deserved to be called out for lying. Not to mention that asinine characterization of the Civil War.
