Here's a fun fact—the rule isn't "a" before consonants and "an" before vowels. It's actually "a" before consonant sounds and "an" before vowel sounds. That's why "an hour" is correct. "Hour" sounds like it starts with the "o" vowel! #TuesdayTidbit
