Neurodiverse writer exploring his mental health and the demands of his sexuality, examining the impacts of awareness and stigma in search of balance & wellness.
I couldn't agree more.
Unburdening yourself of the people and opinions that do not align with or support your happiness and wellbeing is not something to feel a shred of guilt over r give another passing thought to.
Your peace of mind is a core need that cannot be compromised.

Finding a partner who is both willing to support the exploration, yet also aware of when to pump the brakes and challenge my awareness of my state is a challenge, but a blessing I deserve in supporting my recovery long term.

The harsh reality of recovering from a bipolar episode when you're newly diagnosed is having to label behaviours as being mania or depressive.
Some of those behaviours I came to enjoy in mania I do not want to abandon and wish to continue to explore further in a safe and supportive way.

Being introverted with a tenancy to overshare and leaning to my manic side is a powerful cocktail when topped with a low dose edible.
I love the mindscape it enables for me. I wish to capture the space permanently, and with it, find the peace I seek & focus to prosper.

Thoughts for a mellow long-weekend Saturday morning:
Do you have a song that immediately triggers you when you hear it? A song that touches your limbic system and immediately transforms your emotional state and energy level?
For me it's Foo Fighters' 'Everlong'.

Multi-facetted to fit many moments, it's a Top 5 All-Time favourite tune that has been a part of my journey through life since Dave Grohl gifted it to the world in 1997. I can listen to it on repeat until I'm re-energized, exhausted, or the neighbours complain.
What is your sure-fire transformative tune?

@Lady_Sapphira__@onicablu I'm still having a problem with the idea of dumping candy into popcorn, but it works. I'll stick with layered butter and a cheddar shaker, however.
Hot take: Being neurologically spicy means a good mood can turn on a dime to one of 'fuck it all' thanks to the potent combination of brain chemical deregulation and a comment made by a innocent bystander or a lapse in judgement by a loved one.
Moving on from that state is easier when it's a stranger; when is a loved one, it can trigger a trauma response that isn't so quick to pass.
Please remember to be kind and thoughtful.
