At that hour, I found myself wishing I hadn't volunteered because I was barely functioning. Then I thought about this Rev War veteran I had researched, & I thought about all he had gone through so I could sit on the side of my bed to bitch & moan. The shame got me up and going.

2/3 The thing is, I know I have to get the history right. If I don't, the story will be worthless. In my mind, I want to properly represent the veterans of that war & how they suffered, post war. This came to mind last week when I got up around 4:30 am to be at the poll by 5:15
