giving the male character depth isn’t the same as centering him. romance is compelling when two characters feel complete individually and you can make sense of why and how these two specific people fall in love
the way this whole scene shifted smth in me irrevocably. the desperation in rabiyas body language the despair the quiet fondness. like thats a woman deeply in love w her man
remembered how angry everyone was after episode 36 at sarbuland when he didn’t offer rabiya his breakfast that his parody account even had to issue an apology 😭
@ewaseee@dazedhours what’s insane is that the drama from the guilt and shame would have been enough that we didn’t need side stories, like sb noticing something about her then wondering if mudassir fell in love with the same thing and then hating himself for wanting her so buries his feelings 😭
so desperately wish the show had allowed us to see his turmoil and guilt about loving the same woman mudassir did bc the angst would have served. he really saw him as a brother so to see sb dealing with feelings of grief, guilt, shame, and jealousy would have been so good
Losing Mudassir changed Sarbuland deeply. His Agha Jaan used to say they were like twins and that alone shows how close they were. Mudassir was more than a friend to him, he was like a brother. Even through all that grief, Sarbuland kept the promise he made to him and protected Rabiya. Some losses stay with you forever 🥹🩶

i still have more to say ab this. when writers make male characters 'green flags' & have no personality or flaws, they have no room to have character development. which makes female characters, who have more personality in comparison, an easy target for criticism and crucifixion
@SreshthaNiyogi i wish they had given him a cute guard who he trusted and sb would catch himself getting jealous watching him from a distance talk easily with rabiya but she’d just be giving instructions about making sb eat during the day. or her bringing halwa for the cute guard too 😭
wait i think the doctor defo thought they were married and that’s why he was addressing both which sarbuland clocked (but i wanted one jealous scene of him so i’m choosing to believe it was this) ☝🏽
@sdotcoup i prefer the sarbuland being jealous for 5 seconds theory cos imo he got off too easy and some perceived competition would have made him less complacent about her ☝🏽
…letting her guide his mind to sohrab as a suspect which he was avoiding, going with her suggestion of her cooking food for him & bibijaan, and trusting her enough to take him to the hospital which he initially thought was too dangerous. like he was never dismissive of her.
also he was always open to rabiya’s suggestions & feelings. whether it was hearing why she wanted to go home instead of shutting her down, not dismissing her hurt over sohrab’s accusations on her, her shireen suspicion, not pushing her to name torsum bc of her trauma…
Sarbuland Khan never judged any of the female characters in the show not even Shreen then people always ask why we love him so much and that's exactly why ! 😌

the only thing i’m certain of is that rabiya would make sarbuland eat/drink her herbal medicines and he’d complain but do so cos he loves (and fears her). breakfast together every morning (again he’s scared to say no to her). and they would 100% gossip about everyone over chai.
I wanted to see more of sarbiya post confession and how they'll live😭😭😭 do they cook together? do they walk in the garden holding hands? does sb last 5 sec only? do they flirt over tea? do they take umar daraz to picnics?
