RIP to a legend of the game 🙏🏼

[Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter]

NFL legend Mike Ditka, who revolutionized the tight end position before becoming the head coach of the world champion 1985 Bears and a towering figure in the city of Chicago, has passed away, his family announced. He was 86.

Not only could the #Lions defense cause Detroit to miss the playoffs, but it could also waste the best season of Jared Goff's career: https://t.co/njDGxkQDZf

Even with the #Texans at 0-3 to begin the season, Will Anderson Jr. is off to a scorching start: https://t.co/bEZebvS6sN

The #Lions needed someone to step up after center Cade Mays went down with an injury in August, and Juice Scruggs is the one who put the cape on: https://t.co/BR9dfi7myG

#Lions linebacker Jack Campbell seems to be in a major slump for the first time in his career: https://t.co/SSIpaQog2M

Since the AFL-NFL merger in 1970, only 11% of teams to start 0-2 have made the playoffs (per ESPN).

The #Texans are 0-2 for the third time in four years under HC DeMeco Ryans, and they face an uphill battle to reach the postseason: https://t.co/Yy2E7ZX6bz

Chuck Clark might need to morph into Clark Kent for the Detroit #Lions' defense: https://t.co/E8riX41LR3

The #Lions need assistance on the offensive line, and center Cade Mays could be in line to return at the perfect time: https://t.co/ERPyrezS7E

For the third time in four seasons under HC DeMeco Ryans, the #Texans have started 0-2: https://t.co/Gk8Yngfbq4

Among several issues facing the #Lions after week two, the lack of security at left guard is one of the most crucial: https://t.co/Gm66eBwQEG

Heading into their matchup with the Bengals on Sunday, #Texans QB CJ Stroud has something to look forward to. But the Houston play caller also has something to be worried about: https://t.co/7sircX3zbi

The #Lions defense allowed more than 400 passing yards in week one, and Josh Allen could look to exploit the secondary even further: https://t.co/MzC9KLTLb2

It didn't result in a win, but #Texans running back David Montgomery put his name in the history books with his debut on Sunday: https://t.co/5AkE5dCUpY

We're only one game into the 2026 season, and the #Lions should already regret not keeping Kalif Raymond: https://t.co/7g9KK6f5bO

After sneaking out of Ford Field with an overtime win against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, the #Lions have to prepare for what could be the toughest game of their season: https://t.co/1hJHfB5ANJ

How did the #Bills manage to neutralize the #Texans defense? Houston scored over 30 points just four times in 2025. How did it explode for 31 in week one? Most of it can be traced to these 'winners' and 'losers': https://t.co/zaVfrDbCK2

After a primetime thriller in 2025 (23-19), the Texans and Bills are set for another nail biter this time around, right? As Lee Corso would say, not so fast, my friends: https://t.co/BfzSiYHYxd

Star #Lions OT Penei Sewell has permanently moved to left tackle for the first time as a pro, and he’s about to get tested: https://t.co/Zx5OQ5qr4t
