But a huge amount of people with TS are already cut off from their social circles because of misinterpretations of the condition. Now add the incorrect description of Tourette's as 'contagious'

I am absolutely disappointed that @Channel4 allowed Tourette's to be described as 'contagious' in #BritainsTourettesMystery. I was diagnosed with #Tourettes at 12 and I am SO heartbroken that such detrimental and FALSE statements are being promoted after 10 years of progress. 1/

But that is now a reality. And while I am no longer that bewildered teenager, many Tourette's sufferers are. People with Tourette's can do extraordinary things, as can anyone with the right support networks. 4/

Had a very bad tic attack last night so at 1am I started making bread. 3 hours later, I’d produced a 4-plait loaf bread and 12 bagels. I know it’s said a lot, but kneading bread is SO therapeutic!! #tourettes #tourettesyndrome #tics #baking
