“தூள்” — அது வெறும் வெற்றி இல்லை… ஒரு சுனாமி! 🌊

2003 பொங்கல்.

ரிலீஸுக்கு நான்கு நாட்களுக்கு முன்பே நெல்லை பூர்ணகலா தியேட்டர்.

மேட்னி ஷோ.

நண்பன் அடிச்சுப் பிடிச்சு டிக்கெட் வாங்கிய அந்தப் பதட்டம்…

டிக்கெட் கையில் கிடைத்த அந்த ஒரு நொடி…

“டேய்… படம் பார்க்கப் போறோம்!” என்ற சந்தோஷத்தை விட,

“நம்ம டிக்கெட் கிடைச்சிருச்சு!” என்ற சந்தோஷம்தான் அதிகம். 😄

அந்த theatre-க்குள் இருந்த சத்தத்தை இன்றைக்கு வார்த்தைகளால் recreate பண்ண முடியாது.

Screen-ல் title card வருவதற்குள் விசில்.

விக்ரம் entry…

பூர்ணகலா தியேட்டரே வேற level.

“தில்” வெற்றிக்குப் பிறகு தரணி – சீயான் விக்ரம் கூட்டணி.

இரண்டாவது படம்.

Expectation ஏற்கனவே உச்சத்தில்.

ஆனால் “தில்” மாதிரி இன்னொரு police story இல்லை.

கஞ்சா இல்லை.

பெரிய international crime network இல்லை.

ஒரு கிராமம்.

ஒரு சாயப்பட்டறை.

அதன் கழிவுகளால் பாதிக்கப்படும் மக்கள்.

அந்தப் பிரச்சனையை எதிர்த்து நிற்கும் ஒரு சாதாரண இளைஞன்.

Story simple.

ஆனால் அதை commercial cinema-வாக மாற்றிய விதம்தான் “தூள்”.

சீயான் விக்ரம் அந்தப் படத்தில் வெறுமனே நடித்திருக்கவில்லை…

அடிச்சுத் தூள் கிளப்பியிருக்கிறார்.

பசுபதி.

ஷாஜி ஷிண்டே.

சொர்ணா அக்கா.

ஒவ்வொரு character-க்கும் தனி நிறம்.

Hero-வை சுற்றி எல்லாரும் நின்று கொண்டிருக்கும் படம் இல்ல.

Hero இருக்கும் உலகமே ஒரு character மாதிரி இருக்கும்.

அதுதான் தரணியின் screenplay-ன் charm.

ஒரு serious பிரச்சனை.

அதற்குள் comedy.

அதற்குள் காதல்.

அதற்குள் fight.

அதற்குள் ஒரு சின்ன twist.

ஒரு scene முடியும் முன்பே அடுத்த scene-க்கான curiosity.

அதுதான் “தூள்”.

அப்புறம் பாடல்கள்…

வித்யாசாகரின் music அந்த காலத்து cassette culture-க்கு தனி chapter.

“கொடுவா மீசை…”

“சொக்கே சொக்கே…”

ஒவ்வொரு பாடலுக்கும் தனி energy.

எல்லாம் இருக்கிறது.

அதிலும் அந்தக் காலத்தில் பெரிய பேசுபொருளாக இருந்த ஷகிலாவின் guest appearance வரும் அந்தக் காட்சி…

அது வந்தவுடன் theatre-ல் ஏற்பட்ட ஆரவாரம் இன்னும் காதில் கேட்பது போல.

படத்தோடு சம்பந்தப்பட்ட ஒரு சாதாரண cameo-வாக இன்று பார்க்கலாம்.

ஆனால் 2003-ல் theatre-ல் அது ஒரு moment.

Screen-ல் அவர் தோன்றிய சில நொடிகளில் எழுந்த விசில், சத்தம்…

அந்தக் காலத்து ரசிகர்களின் cinema culture-ஐ புரிந்துகொள்ள அந்த ஒரு reaction போதும். 😄

அதுதான் அந்த கால commercial cinema.

Screen-ல் இரண்டு நிமிட content கூட theatre-ல் ஒரு event ஆகிவிடும்.

அந்த Pongal-ல் இன்னொரு விஷயமும் நடந்தது.

“தூள்” மட்டும் தனியாக ஓடவில்லை…

அது வந்திருந்த மற்ற படங்களின் theatrical space-ஐயும் கடுமையாக பிடித்துக்கொண்டது.

அந்த பொங்கலுக்கு வந்த “அன்பே சிவம்”, “வசீகரா” போன்ற படங்கள் தங்களுக்கென audience இருந்தும், “தூள்” உருவாக்கிய mass momentum-க்கு முன்னால் theatre-level impact-ல் பின்னுக்குத் தள்ளப்பட்டதாக அப்போது ரசிகர்கள் மத்தியில் பேசப்பட்டது.

ஒரே Pongal.

பல படங்கள்.

ஆனால் theatre-ல் அதிக சத்தம் எழுப்பிய படங்களில் ஒன்று தூள்.

அந்த நேரத்தில் சீயான் விக்ரமின் market-ஐ நினைத்துப் பார்த்தால் இன்னும் interesting.

“தில்” → “தூள்”.

100 நாள் வெற்றி.

அடுத்ததாக “சாமி” release-க்கு தயாராகிக் கொண்டிருந்த காலம்.

2003-ல் விக்ரம் ஒரு படம் மட்டும் release பண்ணிக்கொண்டிருக்கவில்லை.

ஒவ்வொரு படத்தோடும் தனது market-ஐ இன்னொரு level-க்கு push பண்ணிக்கொண்டிருந்தார்.

“இது பெரிய கதை இல்லை” என்று சொல்லலாம்.

ஆனால் 2003-ல் theatre-ல் உட்கார்ந்து பார்த்தவனிடம் அந்த logic வேலை செய்யாது.

ஏனென்றால் அந்த நேரத்தில் நாங்கள் கதையை மட்டும் பார்க்கவில்லை.

ஒரு hero-வின் rise-ஐ theatre-ல் live-ஆ பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்தோம்.

நெல்லை பூர்ணகலாவில் நண்பன் அடிச்சுப் பிடிச்சு வாங்கிய அந்த டிக்கெட்டிலிருந்து…

100 நாள் வெற்றி வரை…

“தூள்” எனக்கு ஒரு படம் கிடையாது.

ஒரு காலகட்டத்தின் theatre memory.

அதனால்தான் இத்தனை வருடங்கள் கழித்தும்…

“தூள்” என்ற வார்த்தை வந்தாலே,

முதலில் நினைவுக்கு வருவது விக்ரம் இல்லை…
