@pensandpoison The 2026 Commonwealth winner wasn't falsely accused. The story rates as 100% AI generated on Pangram. The author and the prize committee who "investigated" are both lying. https://t.co/4E3x3kT6Zn

SCOOP: Democrats have insisted they have nothing to do with the other Dan Sullivan on Alaska's Senate ballot.

But aides with the Mary Peltola campaign and DSCC were part of a monthslong secret plan to recruit him to run -- as well as other candidates.

NEW on the pardon economy: We found
Trump's clemency orders erased at least $119M in restitution owed to victims, w/ 18 recipients left off the hook who had White House ties. We spoke to several victims, from small business owners to retirees

@paulnovosad I think it's both! A lot of people don't use AI on principle. The idea that AI (pangram) could protect these people from having to read a bunch of AI slop complicates their simplistic moral framework. Conceding that AI has pro-social uses gives away the game.

[Josh Code @writes__code]

Pangram is exposing a new strain of AI derangement that I find fascinating. The tool *obviously* works as advertised. The impulse to assail its integrity with false claims comes, I think, from a deeper fear that AI has already irrevocably changed how we express ourselves—from mundane emails to literary fiction. It feels like something has been stolen from us.

If these people can convince themselves AI isn't actually that good at detecting human writing, then surely the world they feared—with its job loss, its cybersecurity risks, its deluge of AI slop—isn't as close as people say.

Really amazing stuff

[Steve McGuire @sfmcguire79]

Law professor Josh Blackman called the NYT out on politically labeling conservatives more often than liberals, and editor Patrick Healy acknowledged he was right:

“It can come off like The Times treats liberals as normal and conservatives as unique and worthy of labeling.”

Come on now…

I recently interviewed Pangram’s @max_spero_ about the tool’s revolving door of controversies, his jihad against AI slop, and how he feels about being the internet’s AI slop cop. Read here for free: https://t.co/xI0f9mI4il

Really amazing stuff

[Josh Code @writes__code]

@keithedwards Yeah, Pangram's false positive rate is higher for shorter texts-- especially ones hovering just over its 50 word minimum. I'm genuinely curious to see proof of the false positive you found. DM me?

@max_spero_ cocreated one of the most accurate AI writing detectors around. His critics claim his software is “snake oil” and “biased” against people of color. Can he fend off the haters and stop the AI slopocalypse? My latest profile:

I interviewed @max_spero_ , who wants to mop up the slop with his AI-writing detector, Pangram. Meet the man behind the 99+ percent accurate AI detector the internet loves to hate. https://t.co/9e0oPnEA8N
