Sen. Maria Cantwell says she “believes” that the ACC and Big 12 sent supportive letters for the bill because they fear their league will, eventually, go the way of the Pac-12 and be picked apart by the SEC and Big Ten. They “think that’s what is going to happen to them next.”
If this is true, this is a huge overreaction to Belmont face-planting in the quarterfinals 3 months ago. Also, why play 20 games to leave one team out of it that isn't likely to win the conference tournament anyway?

This one goes into the history books at 9:35 p.m. as a 6-0 Carterville win.
Lions 37-1, Red Bud 30-9. Musketeers finish the best season in school history.
Carterville tacks on a run in the 6th for a 6-0 lead going to the 7th.
Red Bud has had a great year but it's going to end, barring the comeback of the decade.
@JerryBeach73 Yeah, she's pretty legit. Umpired her a couple of times this spring. She has the pitches and knows how to use them.
Interested to see what she can do in Champaign.
Still 5-0 after 5 innings. Caidence Phillips up to 10 punchouts for the Lions. Red Bud trying to grind its ABs but Phillips has an 0.11 ERA for a reason.
That was a 3-run 4th inning for Carterville, highlighted by Colbie Bennett's laser double to the LF wall that knocked in a run. A bunt scored a second run and a throwing error on the same play upped the Lions' lead on Red Bud to 5-0.
Musketeers are up against it now.
Still 2-0 Carterville after 3 innings. Red Bud got a pair of 2-out singles in the last of the 3rd from Olivia Schmidt and Ava Wagner but Caidence Phillips wriggled out of trouble with her 5th strikeout of the night.
