@CohenSite 👋🏼 YIMBY neighbor who has been in the support of this project for months. I reached out to her office expressing that & the limited parking *spoiler: I never heard back. The office space she got rid of in favor of EV parking, was for supportive services for residents! She sucks!
I hope this exchange is a learning opportunity for local officials.
“Compromising” with NIMBY opposition to kill 2-floors of housing is not a win. Our systems have been setup to, by design, give the loudest voices in the room an outsized say on what does or does not get built.
I still can't believe Councilmember Padilla used *forcing a developer to reduce the size of an affordable housing project* as an example of how she is making housing more affordable for the people in her district!
Being self-employed, I spend ~$20K a year on health insurance premiums for a family of 4, and my deductible is $7,050 per person.
Explain to me how this makes sense.
