It’s not as generous as it sounds. A reset doesn’t add extra usage, it replaces your current 7 day window with a new one starting now. So if you already used all of your allowance, then yes this is generous because you get a full reset early. If you still had usage left then that remaining portion is lost, because the previous week is effectively cancelled.
In short, it only benefits you if you’ve already run out otherwise, you’re giving up unused usage in exchange for an earlier reset.
I think we’re talking about slightly different things. You’re describing how plans behave today and for heavy daily users they’re still v generous. I’m referring to where pricing is heading. For example copilot moving toward token/credit-based billing tied to model costs. My point is that pricing is gradually being restructured to align more closely with underlying compute costs, rather than the earlier heavily subsidised flat usage to capture the market. The vcs who bankrolled all of that must be screaming right now
