Anyone would think the numbers of "cases" & "infections" picked up by PCR testing have had no reflection on people actually dying or needing medical attention since they were implemented months ago.

I wonder how many cases of common cold or seasonal flu there are! The latest medical group think is promoting vaccinations to young kids who have minimal risk of serious disease + repeated vaccinations when evidence points to diminishing returns and possibly less immunity.

@timspector Covid has been a complete worldwide disaster.

And I don't mean the virus as such I mean the government' and medical hierarchy's reaction to it.

Totally disproportionate totally blinkered and the collateral damage has been huge and list of damage grows by the day!

@timspector I think you are fighting a losing battle trying to scare people about an infection that is like colds. Vulnerable people should use their own common sense and take precautions with colds and flu as they always did. It is time to move on and look at more important conditions.

@TheSki_Guru @timspector My understanding is that Denmark are maintaining a very high level of (?world-leading) testing still and probably best for sequencing of samples for new variants. I think there are a few issues: omicron B1&B2 are mild, infections produce high levels of herd immunity

@timspector Tim this is not helpful and verging on scaremongering. Have you looked at parallels in other countries? Denmark one of the first to remove restrictions and get a wave of B2. Cases shot up and just as quickly down again.

@timspector Ive signed up to the Zoe diet study. Exciting stuff. Now I think is time to retire Covid symptom study. It was good in its day but no longer provides enough corroborated data when symptoms are like cold and mild. Danger of scaremongering public. 1/2

@RichardBurgon You expect companies to take big risks to produce what we need, and if they make a loss or things go pear shaped and if they go bust it is ok, but if they make a profit, you slap them with "windfall tax". What incentive is that to companies to innovate and invest?
