When we were told the Adria pipeline had “no capacity” - it did, and it does.
When we were accused of “war profiteering” - our tariffs were and remain transparent and market-based.

When Croatia was labelled an “unreliable transit country” - we kept critical infrastructure stable and uninterrupted, independent of any political accusations.

Croatia will not allow Central Europe’s fuel supply to be endangered. We are ready to help solve the acute disruption, within EU law and OFAC regulations. No one should be left without fuel.

But honestly, here’s the lesson @EU_Commission. The Adria pipeline is ready, so there are no technical excuses left for staying tied to Russian crude for any EU country. A barrel bought from Russia may appear cheaper to some countries, but helps fund war and attacks on Ukrainian people.
It’s time to stop that war profiteering.

P.S. Infrastructure does not change overnight. Narratives sometimes do.

BREAKING: CONSTITUTIONAL SHOWDOWN! Trump vows to change voting laws without Congress.

Donald Trump is saying the quiet part out loud — again.

In a jaw-dropping post, the former president vowed to impose new voter ID requirements ahead of the midterm elections “whether approved by Congress or not.” Yes, you read that correctly. Not pass a law. Not persuade lawmakers. Just… do it.

Trump has long pushed for stricter voter ID rules, claiming they’re necessary to stop voter fraud — despite mountains of evidence showing that voter fraud in U.S. elections is exceedingly rare. Courts, audits, and even Trump’s own officials have repeatedly confirmed that widespread fraud simply isn’t happening.

But facts have never slowed him down.

In his latest message, Trump accused Democrats of refusing to support voter ID because they “want to continue to cheat in Elections.” He claimed he has discovered some “irrefutable” legal argument and promised there “will be Voter I.D. for the Midterm Elections, whether approved by Congress or not.”

That’s not policy — that’s a power grab.

The Constitution gives states the primary authority to run elections, with Congress empowered to set federal standards. The president does not get to unilaterally rewrite voting laws because he doesn’t like them.

Democrats and voting rights advocates argue that strict voter ID laws disproportionately impact minority communities, seniors, students, and low-income voters — groups less likely to have certain forms of identification. That’s why the fight over voter access has become one of the defining battles of the midterm cycle.

Trump also floated restricting mail-in voting, allowing exceptions only for the military, illness, disability, or travel — despite the fact that mail voting has been used safely for decades across red and blue states alike.

Let’s be clear: Threatening to bypass Congress to change how Americans vote isn’t about “election integrity.” It’s about control.

In a democracy, leaders don’t get to rewrite the rules mid-game. If Trump thinks he can simply will new voting laws into existence, he’s not just challenging Congress — he’s testing the limits of the Constitution itself.

Market size matters. Demographics matter. Momentum matters. A combined consumer and industrial base ten times larger than that of the US is not a detail. It is destiny.

For decades, the United States benefited from being the default partner. Trusted. Predictable. Anchored in alliances. That advantage is now evaporating. Trade does not like uncertainty, and it absolutely does not like humiliation. When allies are treated as subordinates, they eventually leave.

The European Union, with its enormous economic weight, advanced manufacturing, and regulatory power, is already adapting. European companies are accelerating partnerships in Asia. Supply chains are being redesigned with long time horizons in mind. India is becoming the preferred growth story. China remains the indispensable industrial engine. Together, they form a gravitational center that capital cannot ignore.

As Europe and Canada reduce exposure to the US market, the consequences for America are symmetrical but harsher. Reduced access. Fewer preferential terms. Lower foreign investment. A weaker dollar over time. Slower growth. Economic decline does not arrive with a crash. It arrives as missed opportunities that never return.

Meanwhile, China and India gain exactly what the US is losing. Stable partners. Long term contracts. Technology transfer. Market access. Scale advantages that compound year after year.

This is not about ideology. It is about arithmetic. Three billion beats three hundred million. Every time.

The great irony is that the United States did not lose this race because it was outcompeted. It lost because it chose to alienate the very alliances that made its dominance possible. In trying to look strong, it made itself smaller.

History is ruthless about this kind of mistake. Markets move on. Power follows.

But there is a big “but”.
This Europe we often talk down delivers remarkable results. Safer societies, longer lives, stronger social protection, lower emissions, better work-life balance.
The data in this visual are real. And they remind us of something we too often forget: Europe is stronger than we think. If we started more often from our strengths, fixing our flaws would be easier.
